On the general issue of combating misinformation about Sim, you can go about this in a few ways:

1. Google News: Search for Dave Sim and/or Cerebus regularly (once a month, unless there's a story getting some traction) via Google News. This tracks most major (and some minor) publications, and will highlight any mention of Dave. If something shows up, check out the story and see if there are any comments. The majority of criticism is found there. You might have to register to comment on some sites. If there are no comments, leave one.

2. Google: Use Google's "Search Tools" feature to find recent mentions of Dave and Cerebus on smaller blogs and other sites. Search for Dave Sim and/or Cerebus like you normally would and then use the "Search Tools" function to bring up the "Any Time" feature, and choose "Past 24 Hours" to see if anything's been posted recently. Again, if something does show up, look for comments and if there are none, leave a message.

3. I'm sure you've looked around the web in general for Dave Sim/Cerebus news. Run random searches alongside Dave Sim and Cerebus. Look for Dave Sim and Cerebus with glamourpuss or Steve Ditko or God or Muhammad, Todd McFarlane, Oscar Wilde, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Spider-Man, the Sphinx, etc. etc. etc. This should dig up any sites out there that might be mentioning him.

3. Comic Sites: The main comic sites, TCJ, Bleeding Cool, etc. (you can see a good list here: http://www.popcrunch.com/the-14-best-comic-book-websites/) are worth searching just in case they don't show up in the Google/Google News search. In addition, you might to dig around the sites themselves, use the individual site's search function to look for any Sim/Cerebus mentions. Also, many of them have message boards. You can probably take a look for free, but if you want to comment you'll probably have to register.

4. Twitter: Do a search for Dave Sim and a different search for Cerebus. For the Dave Sim search, click on "Live" and it will show the last bunch of mentions of him. For the "Cerebus" search, it will say "Showing results for Erebus." Click on "Search for Cerebus instead." and then "Live" and it will show you all results. You can also do another search just for #Cerebus.

5. Youtube: Same thing, use the search filters and search by upload date and popularity to find recent videos and popular videos that might have active comments.

6. Reddit: Do a search for Dave Sim or Cerebus and sort by date. He doesn't come up very often, but they do have a lot of comic book fans there.

7. And, of course, Moment of Cerebus. Tim's good at finding any mentions of Cerebus, so just check out the stories he links to and, again, check out the comments.

I think that should pretty much cover it. Let me know if you have any other ideas. Just some more people out there looking and responding to comments and stories about Sim and just increasing the amount of Sim/Cerebus content by leaving comments would be good if you have the time. Thanks!

I've set up Google alerts for Dave Sim and Cerebus and Cerebus The Aardvark.

They're really easy, but mostly pickup torrent feeds of the books and Moment of Cerebus!!!!

BTW - it would be interesting to know how MANY downloads and how many are return sales.

Also - why not reach out to people to generate content - send some of the issues or even scans to people who might be interested.

Someone like Jog (on TCJ) or Zainab Akhtar (Comics&Cola) both would have interesting perspectives - Zainab is a muslim woman for example.

I've been waiting to chime in on the Great Cerebus Giveaway Day until a definite date was announced.

So: being in New Mexico ( ... and not having the $$ for a trip ...) there's no chance I'll make it to the storage facility.

But: I'd REALLY appreciate it if someone would be willing to assemble three sets of issues #'s 232 to 300 - yes, the full Going Home / Latter Days / Last Day storylines. (And yes, I know there's at least two issues in the run that have zero available.)

Any volunteers? I'll watch for replies here.

Thanks in advance -

Steve Swenson

Re: The Cerebus Underground Railroad, i.e. people who can't make it to the Great Giveaway, I think we're going to use Menachem Luchins from Escape Pod comics as a central hub. Whatever overstock we can get to him, we'll do that and then get him to send copies out to everyone. Thanks for the tips, iestyn, I'll look into those sites, thanks!
