This is fantastic!

I doubt Dave will see this comment, so I will pass it on to him in a phone call, but given the point on the wrist he identified, and what I have experience in the last year doing SDOAR and YDKJ, I think Dave just has a pinched ulnar nerve. About half-way through the SDOAR pages I started having to do ulnar nerve glide exercises at the end of the each drawing day to alleviate pain in a similar spot. Maybe we can get Dave back full-time?!

This has got to be the best Weekly Update of all time! I was mesmerized! I'm going to have to go back and watch Dave at work a few more times. Hopefully Carson is right and it's a pinched nerve, and Dave can get back to the drawing board more often.

Overjoyed. And aside from the hard-won occasion, it is just fascinating seeing Dave's artistic process in action.

So, a couple of things come to mind:

Dave, given that you have not drawn for 2.5 years due to wrist pain issues, spending 8+ hours drawing right off the bat might not be the best idea.

Will the tissue paper art be auctioned?

Sure looks nicer than the art you did for my own custom hardcover books; but then, I'm several orders of magnitude away from $10K...

And I sincerely hope your wrist is going to continue to improve, with a final goal of a complete recovery!

Steve

ps -- OK, so that's a few things, not a couple

Fun to watch, but yeah, like Steve said, pace yourself, sir! Was your hand actually pulsating like that on its own, or were you trying to "shake it off" yourself after drawing that long. Because I don't think that's good if it's doing that on its own.

But glad you can do some art again!

Cerebus in Hell? reviews on AJS coming soon!

Travis (and anyone else interested)-- Dave said (via fax) that the hand convulsing was just a joke :)

(Yes, I asked, too!)

I was hoping that was the case, but I wasn't sure! Thanks for the info, Sean!
