Correspondence archive sorted & stored (Dave's Weekly Update #250)

Hi, Everybody!

Friend to the Blog and [insert some funny title here], Steve Peters is doing a Kickstarter to restore his Rabbit Hell Digest books, (which celebrated it's 27th anniversary on August 17th.) The first one was issues 1 and 2. Now he's doing 3 and 4.

Will he make the Weekly Update?

I HIGHLY doubt it, but I figured Steve'd like another pugola...

Heeeeeere's Dave:

So, if you got Letters, Dave'd like 'em.

Next Time: Previews, Travis sent in Previews...

Hmm. Over fourteen years of correspondence with Dave, mostly between 2004 and 2014, but including three letters from him in the past month or so, and various and sundry in the last four years. I'm pretty sure he made copies of all of them, but I guess I'll have to check with him. If you're curious about the early ones, you can find "Dave Sim & Me" archived here, somewhere. Man, I really hope he's got them all. That would be a buttload of copying...

Completely off topic -
I am watching an ep of Mountain Men, one of the MM's had his snow machine breakdown in the backwoods of Alaska (are there any front or side woods?). Anwwho, he has to hoof it. So he ties on his snowshoes and, you guessed it; Wuffa Wuffa! Ha! Ok, I may have added the wuffa sound effects, but he did look a bit like our old friend!
Far from the first time that something that was in Cerebus decades ago makes me laugh when i see a close representation in the real!

Perhaps I've missed something along the way, but just what is this research Dave is expecting to have happen with the Archives as a resource?

Steve:

It might be people who are researching independent comic creators and not just Dave. The correspondence & comics he's received from other comic artists over the years could be a rich resource.

I still wish Dave had donated his archive to an Ontario University or the Canadian Archives. It would have been more accessible to fans & researchers than a suburban home in Kitchener, Ontario
