That was D'Avenger at the height of their powers.
Ugh. Here we see why I'll never buy the "Form and Void" phone book, remastered or otherwise. It reminds me too much of how I HATED being forced to read Hemingway in high school American Lit class. Dave's parody is, unfortunately, spot on - Hemingway's prose really is *that* bad.
He wasn't ever not sure of himself. He learned to write simple declarative sentences. Punctuation? Well that was for those pussy East Coast writers.
He had written about wars. He was a man. A woman's kind of man. Not that he had much use for women. Except of course the obvious use. And they loved him for that.
And then afterwards he went back to his typing.
