HERMANN (Dave's Weekly Update #357)

Hi, Everybody!

Heeeeeere's

HERMANN #1! (The NEW CiH?) Final order cut-off is October 22nd.
I only wrote one strip, but my name goes on the cover, BECAUSE IT'S IN MY CONTRACT, BIRDSONG!!! SUB-SECTION TWELVE, PARAGRAPH FIVE, CLAUSE SIX. CLAUSE SIX!!!

Hrm. Too small. Hard to read. Need bigger. Need to click. Hrm.

I guess Spider-Whore has reached the Final Order Cut-off. (Brian West's talk on the Tweet was spot on...)

The Amicable Spider-Vark is in stores now, and Batvark: PENIS will join it on the 30th. Not sure about Batvark: XXXXX, as it has two different listings according to Previews. (Ain't keeping up with this fun?)

Signed copies of Vark Wars: Walt's Empire Strikes Back (Signed by Dave, Signed by Dave and me, Signed by me after I scribble out Dave's name, Pretty much available Signed only...)

Cerebus masks and whatnots with all the money going to Dave. New product will be added to the store when I get around to it. (Soon, soon...)

If you missed the Kickstarter for Dave and Carson Grubaugh's You Don't Know Jack, Indiegogo, until Sean and Carson remember to end it...

If you missed the Waverly Press Kickstarter for the Remastered Cerebus #1, limited overflow of the rewards are available at cerebusoverload.com.  Hey, update:
Cerebus Overload Ebay surprise!
https://www.ebay.com/itm/254721028403 (Misprinted #1)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/254721035463 (Sketch Card with a Sketch by Dave)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/254721036009 (Another Sketch Card with a Sketch by Dave)
IT'S WILF JENKINS WEEK*!!!

As you all know, Wilf Jenkins was the Aardvark/Vanaheim lawyer for years, and during that time he was on the comp list. Wilf saved all his copies. Dave and Wilf have signed them, and there's a certificate of authenticity. The books will be available from Looking For Heroes, for $10 (CAD) plus $4 dollars shipping to Canada and $5 dollars shipping to the USA. All the money goes to the Food Bank of the Waterloo Region.

(I have no idea if the books are available yet, I haven't HEARD anything, so...)

Since this is Wilf Jenkins Week*, we're gonna "Wilf it up" and do a Please Hold For Wilf Jenkins. On Sunday, so, if you got a question for Dave's lawyer (1982-2014), send it in to momentofcerebus@gmail.com, or post it here.

Next Time: An AMOC Mailbag interlude...
*Eh, it might run for longer than a week. "People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a nonlinear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey...stuff."

O-kay.

So, that was ... a thing.

I say, more showtunes sung by Mr. Sim.

Who is mos' def' *not* gay. Heck, he's not even non-binary.

I think (and this is just me guessing here), he's been "none of the above" (whatever your checklist includes) for around 22 years.

But, still.

Showtunes?

Can't get enough of 'em.

Questions for Wilf:

Considering his work with Dave (and perhaps others in the field of entertainment), what advice would he give to creators (writers/artists/musicians) regarding the protection of their intellectual property?

Are there other insights he's had regarding the comic-book industry in particular, or entertainment in general, that he would like to share with creators?

Thanks!

Good questions, Claude.

Hmm. Dave? My question for you:

What made you decide to let M. become not only cerebusfangirl.com, but your occasional mouthpiece?

As have I been, but without a Cerebus fanboy website.

Just curious.

Wilf questions:

Did you actually read all / most / many / some / none of the AV comics you received?

Did you have any prior interest in comics, or any subsequent or continued interest in comics once the comp copies ended?

Do you have any other memorabilia (art, prints, etc) you'll be parting ways with?

Steve

I take back my question above. Reading it again, it seems rude instead of a joke. Sorry, M.
