Maybe if I spent more time with it, I would change my mind. It *sounds* interesting, but just from what I've seen, it has never grabbed me. The music for the Jazz Ballet is nice! I listened to the whole thing!Sandeep Atwalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09573022107868770512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2837001751311078781.post-59608334474308222822015-08-02T15:52:54.923-05:002015-08-02T15:52:54.923-05:00I did a project at Brock University about Krazy Ka...I did a project at Brock University about Krazy Kat. It was for a theatrical set design class, and out final project was to make a scale model of, a)The Sean O' Sullivan theatre and b)a set of some play, opera, ballet or musical of our choosing. I was reading a book about Krazy Kat in the Brock Library at the time and discovered to my pleasure that there was a jazz ballet produced in the 20's that actually had Herriman's involvement. With so much visual design to work from it was a really fun project to make all of the little houses, rock formations, cacti and stuff into a miniature set.

Here is the music for anyone interested.
https://youtu.be/6uGXe0qnK2gAnthony Kucharhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16362054090556688907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2837001751311078781.post-35647841538605389152015-08-02T13:49:48.699-05:002015-08-02T13:49:48.699-05:00Sandeep,

Don't you realise that The Comics Journal voted this No.1 in their list of the 100 Best Comics of the 20th Century!

Oh, wait... that's the list that didn't include Cerebus... nevermind.
http://momentofcerebus.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/100-best-comics-of-century.html
A Moment Of Cerebushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02718525538144698138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2837001751311078781.post-51827187510772930792015-08-02T12:04:06.155-05:002015-08-02T12:04:06.155-05:00I own some of the Krazy Kat reprint books and I ha...I own some of the Krazy Kat reprint books and I have to say that George Herriman's work is not only a masterpiece - it was ahead of its time. This is not a comic strip like Garfield or Peanuts that you can just pick up, read and put back down. It takes some level of intelligence and an open mind to look over the panels and comprehend them. It's not for everyone. To be honest, the first few times, I found it hard to get into Krazy Kat. But I just couldn't toss it aside. I was forced to try to read it again and "decipher" it.

Krazy Kat is a classic and is worth checking out, especially for anyone who wants to go the avant-garde route.
