The Comics Journal: "Landed" marked Koike's U.S. comics debut, in Marvel's Epic Illustrated #26 (Oct. 1984). Gallantly accompanied by chapter one of "The Last Galactus Story" by John Byrne & Terry Austin and a Cerebus short from Dave Sim & Gerhard
https://www.tcj.com/reviews/heavens-door-extra-works/

Google translation from Spanish:"No one has repeated Sim's feat and will not repeat it in the future" "Cerebus is one of the biggest commercial successes of indie in the 80s." "It generated so many benefits that Sim could afford to go to comic book salons in a limousine, a luxury that even today the authors of Marvel and DC could not afford" "With the money from Cerebus he financially supported promising youngsters and authors' associations; she as a comic book superstar she publicly protested against the abuses of the big publishers." "Sim proved that any author with vision and talent could create great comics without the support of a big-name publisher. He showed that authors in the North American industry could achieve financial success without submitting to the servitude of Marvel and DC. He showed that the indie comic, free from creative ties, could tell unique and personal stories that the reader would never find in the American mainstream or on another continent. He definitely demonstrated the greatness of North American indie"

"Another Millennial Reviewer" reviews the Cerebus film and gives it a glowing 5/5 stars:
"This film struck a chord with me. There was just something about it I really enjoyed. The thing I perhaps enjoyed most of all was the wonderful absurdist elements that both made me laugh but were also quite deep and introspective at times, this film really goes places.
In that vein I thought the writing was clever and really helped the film to excel. The runtime flew by and by the end of it you are asking for more, if only more films could be paced liked this. The characters all felt fully realised and rounded, you ended up caring about each of them and becoming somewhat lost in the world.
The animation was beautiful and really highlighted what can be achieved on a budget. I thought the animation had way more personality than a lot of the samey looking animated films that come out, and that brought with it a lot of charm. I think the animators of this film deserve a pat on the back, they did top notch work.
Overall, a magnificent film"

This made me smile: Can you make a feature length animated movie without a budget? Yeah. Yeah. You can. Sure. Go for it. Why not? What's stopping you? I mean, it's gonna be hard. It's going to take a lot of time and effort. It could destroy you. But you can do it. And then, when it's finished, people are going judge it against freaking $200 million budget Academy Award winning Pixar movies but fine. Whatever. You did it. Or, more specifically, these people did it.

...haven't seen "jackass forever" yet, but i imagine 10 million budget is not enough for what these guys put themselves through:)

Which reminds me i found this ol' picture of the Cerebus film team

So I guess Amazon changed their mind. (And worse Vuuzle just petered out.) Anyway, if it all stops today we'll count our lucky stars we got this far.
