Dave's Giant Plush Purple Crayon

Benjamin Hobbs:

This week Dave faxed me a picture of a Giant Plush Purple Crayon.

This is high quality imaging... for a fax machine.

This was followed  by an email (sent on Dave's behalf, not by Dave) with this photo in it:
It's not always this exciting working on CIH?.

So WHY did Dave fax me a picture of a Giant Plush Purple Crayon?  Is it for Giant Plush Purple Crayon In Hell? #1?!? Is it related to an already announced CIH? project?!? Leave your guesses in the comments!

Or, wait until:

Next Week: The purpose of the Crayon revealed!

Why a giant purple crayon...hmmm, let's see.
Well, purple is a result of the admixture of two colors. Red--the color of blood, menstrual blood more specifically--and therefore represents, by my thinking, God's adversary the YHWH--and blue, the color of water, which is God's medium. The crayon, when stood on end, represents, as far as I can see, the number 1. This is because the YHWH, with its he/she/it incarnation, is attempting to achieve a consensus incarnation with God. God, of course, is used to this from His adversary and tries--futilely--to get the point across that merging God with YHWH isn't going to work by literally turning the crayon, the 1, upside down. Also note that crayons are for children, which, to God, the YHWH he/she/it must seem.

Wait, today isn't Sunday?

Alright,
Mitch.

I done me best when I was let. Thinking always if I go all goes. A hundred cares, a tithe of troubles and is there one who understands me? One in a thousand of years of the nights? All me life I have been lived among them but now they are becoming lothed to me. And I am lothing their little warm tricks. And lothing their mean cosy turns. And all the greedy gushes out through their small souls. And all the lazy leaks down over their brash bodies. How small it's all! And me letting on to meself always. And lilting on all the time.

Gotta be some Harold reference, no?

Wish comments could be upvoted. I'd give ++++ to Mitch. It's so good it's barely even satire...too close to the real thing.

Okay, first, Anon? Nice turn on "Ulysses". You're clearly a Joyceian. And, yes, "all the time".

Second, maybe Dave just needs a knee pillow. We all need knee(d) (knead) pillows. Somebody sent it to him (and I know for a fact that Dave receives weird, random, gifts every so often, because, well, most of them have been from me). May God bless the someone who sent it to him, if that's the case.

Sleep well, and deeply, Dave.

Somehow I suspect Alex Raymond used this to draw and still made teeny-tiny little impossibly small lines with it.

Ben Hobbs almost never gets very far from Cerebus In Hell so I would wager that the purple crayon will appear on a future parody cover. For the life of me I can't imagine what that could be.

And Jeff, if I'm not mistaken that is a quote from FINNEGANS WAKE.
