So, what IS Dave's NEW Cerebus story in the LEGENDS OF INDIE COMICS: WORDS ONLY Kickstarter?

Hi, Everybody!

So Dave has a NEW Cerebus story appearing in the LEGENDS OF INDIE COMICS: WORDS ONLY Kickstarter

I was asked to help promote it, and not knowing what Dave wrote, I had to ask him so I could help.

Thus:
Say Dave,

Any TEASE you can give about that new Cerebus Story that's to appear in the LEGENDS OF INDIE COMICS: WORDS ONLY Kickstarter?
Where does it fit in the Cerebus chronology?
Does it feature the first appearance of the Titillating Text-Only Roach?
Has it even been written yet?
Does that mean that technically "Titillating Text-Only Roach" is copyright 2024 Manly Matt Dow? And therefore you owe me royalties on his use?

Is this a "Choose-Your-Own-Adventure" style story? With alternate endings?

You guys remember "On Governing"? Right?

Is it just an expanded version of the Anything Goes #3 story: Breaking Up Is Hard To Do?
Does it FINALLY explain what the deal was with Sir Gerrick?--

Well, if this is, as the kids say, "your jam", send me everything we've ever learned about Sir Gerrick, and I'll fax it up to Dave, and he'll FINALLY settle what Gerrick's deal was.

"Astoria and Gerrik sitting in a tree..."

Hi, Everybody!

Mondays!

So, Dave and I are doing Please Hold For Dave Sim on Thursday. If you have a question, get it in to momentofcerbus@gmail.com by Wednesday night when I send the fax. And Dave and I will answer it. Any question. Like this one from Anonymous:
The Cirin family tree is weird. Who is Sir Gerrik's father and what was he thinking? And how did he...never mind, some men will just do it with anything, or he was tricked, or drugged, or, gag me, wanted too.

If that is too gross, a more serious question is was Astoria ever actually pregnant with Sir Gerrik's child or did she have an abortion as was hinted at in the story? Was she just playing games with Cirin knowing the game was deadly or just "effing" with her in a vicious mother/daughter spat? Did George R. R. Martin read Cerebus? Looking back at it now, the whole Cirin/Astoria spat was very Game of Thrones-ish.

Serra-Cirin is one of the best comic book villains ever and still scary to this day.

Anonymous
I think Anonymous is talking about this bit from Church & State I:

Ah! So as Anonymous asks: "Was Astoria ever actually pregnant with Sir Gerrik's child or did she have an abortion as was hinted at in the story?"

I'ma pretty sure Anon. has forgotten that Dave answered this...in the Cerebus storyline. Specifically in Reads:

And:
Serna the Aardvark gave birth to a human son. When she stole the human Cirin's identity, she "adopted" Gerrik as her son. Who was the father? Well, Cirin DID engineer a society where alcohol was free, and there was no "Last Call"...

Next Time: Jen's got a question?

I was BUSY!

Hi, Everybody!

Yeah, I didn't post this weekend.

I'm moving. The wife and I are selling Stately Dow Manor, and shutting down the AMOCave, and "Moving on up" to Dow Tower and starting an AMOCave in the subbasement. (Seriously, the commute was killing me...)

ANYWAY, the wife turned off the Internet at the Manor, and I was staying there herding cats until we could pack them up. And packing every damn thing I own. Including all sorts of neat Cerebus stuff. (Which I REALLY should have taken a picture of...)

How do I do this stuff again?

Right, right, Faxes.

Aardvark:

I SWEAR moving this weekend wasn't like this at all...

Greetings backers,

Form & Void is officially in the hands of the printer!

We don't have a delivery date yet but as soon as we know when they're coming we will post an update.

Everything else related to this project has been printed so it's just down to the actual books.

For those of you that are interested, we are only producing 400 deluxe books. 200 hardcover and 200 softcover. We have a limited number still available for pre-order on the Waverly Comics website in different bundle options. Link: https://waverlycomics.com

Thank you for backing this project!
If YOU have anything related to the 1982 Tour, that'd be of interest, shoot me an email at momentofcerebus@gmail.com and I'll get it to the Waverly Press.

Living the Line got a new series with Carson Grubaugh  The Abolition of Man #1. It's a comic "drawn" by an AI.

They also published The Strange Death of Alex Raymond, which has the website of annotations.

The Strange Death of Alex Raymond didn't win an Eisner. We're all disappointed...
