So yesterday, I had to do a thing all day with my kids. And I've caught a cold, and last night it knocked me on my ass. Consequently, I haven't finished The 2025 Please Hold For Dave Sim Christmas Spectacular (if you follow along in the places, the audio is up on the FuckSpotify and the first four videos are on YouTube.) 

But since I just wanna sit and try to heal, here's the post I expected to do last night:

On your Saturday, November 1, 2025 post on AMOC, you were puzzled where Cerebus feet came from Rick's Story. I think, by sheer stupid coincidence, I may have found origin of the feet. I'm still not sure where Dave might have actually used it,though.

On "Behind the Scenes at Aardvark-Vanaheim (Dave's Weekly Update #125) at the 3:32 mark, Dave is showing original artwork and the lo and behold moment, Rick and the Ascendant artwork.

I got this at San Francisco's Fan Expo this weekend and believe the Cerebus family may appreciate it. Arthur Adams was there signing books and doing a very limited amount of sketch work. He was presented a stack of blank sketch books to choose from. He could have grabbed any number of books but he actually chose this Cerebus to work on.
What a beautiful piece that he then rewarded me with. I absolutely love it!!! I think its pretty clear that he is/was a Cerebus fan at some point. Would you please forward this to Rolly so Dave may also enjoy it? Thank you!!

So there is a story behind this if you want me to go into it. Not sure if Dave wants to make a print of it but there is a version for that. (Thanks to Andrew Pepoy for the scanning)

The idea was mine (Iwo Jima) - done after the show in Chicago. Gave it to Hero Illustrated - they published it in an issue that I don't recall the number of, about the size of a postage stamp. Hero went belly up, the piece showed up on eBay as a print. Steve Harold (co-conspirator with the Chicago Spirits stop w/me & Larry Marder) and he scooped it up knowing what it was and gifted it back to me. Probably not that well known to exist - and definitely not viewable like this would be.

Larry Shell Benefit Art Auction on Heritage for Taxes & House Repairs

Longtime collector and comics professional, Larry Shell, is having a difficult time right now. Due to his being disabled from two spinal surgeries over the past ten years, he is unable to work and earn a living anymore. This has caused his home of close to 50 years to fall into disrepair and the township he lives in has given him a limited time to make at least some of the repairs or face consequences of thousands of dollars in fines. which could ultimately lead to the house being condemned. It is livable and just needs a lot of work.

In addition, property taxes for 2025 are overdue and non-payment would result in the township putting the house up for tax sale!

To this end, Larry has contacted many of his comic book and strip cartoonist friends to donate a piece of Original Art for an auction to help pay the taxes and for the repairs, starting with his front porch which is falling apart and needs to be completely rebuilt! This needs to be dealt with asap!
The auctions are part of the weekly Heritage Wednesday Comic Art & Animation Select Auction #322550 and will be live and open for bids later today, Wednesday, December 3rd at 7pm CST and end on Wednesday, December 10th.

Among the artists whose work will be auctioned are:

(It's set in 1977, will a certain obscure Canadian cartoon aardvark make a cameo? (No. Elvis died in August. Cerebus wasn't published until December. Any appearance in the flick would be an anachronism that would ruin the movie for everybody. EVERYBODY!).) Here's the first trailer.
