The Last Day Remarqued Editions are now available Internationally! As I heard it:
Dave says we can open up THE LAST DAY Remarqued editions to international buyers.

The extra shipping for international is:
International Surface = $35 Canadian dollars - takes 1.5 - 3 months to get
or
International Air = $75 Canadian dollars - takes 1 - 2 months to get
So, click on over to CerebusDownload.com, and there are THREE BIG-@$$ Buttons. Pick your poison, pay with the PayPals, and while you're waiting the next couple of months, you can click the button:
Wait, what?

Yup, George has made a Cerebus in Hell? video game:

It's pretty neat. Tell your friends.

Anyway, if YOU want YOUR copy of the Remastered The Last Day to be personalized (like mine is), you need to pay at CerebusDownload.com, then call (519) 576-0610 and leave a message for Dave explaining that you bought a copy (I'd say what the name that paid is, so Dave can verify with Eddie. Like if you're Mario, but MushroomPrincess69@email.com paid, I'd say "Hi Dave! This is MushroomPrincess69@email.com, I paid for a Remarqued The Last Day at CerebusDownload.com, and would like it personalized "To Mario!" please. I've been a fan since that crazy party in Kyoto..." (Ya know that the tape DOES run out, right?...) OR, if you have the technology, you could fax your PayPal receipt to (519) 576-0955 to prove to Dave that you paid, and include your personalization request. Or if you know Eddie's email (I do. I know all sorts of stuff. Like the address of the Off White House. And Hobb's old house number (he's moving, but soon I'll know the NEW location of the Fortress of Hobbsitude.). And the combination to Jen DiGiacomo's footlocker "3 turns left, stop at 17. 2 turns right, stop at 34. One turn left stop at..." (I can give the last number, or Jen can pay me not to. No skin of my nutz...) It's all in the AMOC Editor's Book of Secrets...), you could email Eddie with your personalization request, and make HIM tell Dave to write "To Mario!" on your Remarqued The Last Day that you bought from CerebusDownload.com for $99 Canadian Dollars.

"I remember TMNT #8!" By Doug Sulipa of Doug Sulipa's COMIC WORLD

Hi, Everybody!

One of Dave's guerilla marketing ideas for the Remastered Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #8 by Aardvark-Vanaheim and The Waverly Press, was sending original art cards to Comic Book Stores that have been around since TMNT #8 first came out in 1986. And then he faxes me a 220% enlargement that I email to them:
And if we're lucky, they respond:
** In 1986 the World was watching many thing including; Chernobyl, Halley's
Comet, Phantom of the Opera, Ronald Reagan and Space Shuttle Challenger;
** Meanwhile Fans of Comic Books were often oblivious to these world events,
they were more interested in Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank
Miller, Watchmen by Alan Moore, Man of Steel by Byrne, Daredevil in Born
Again
by Miller, Punisher limited series by Zeck;
** The Mid-1980's were BOOM Years for the Early Alternative Independent
Comics, as the Direct Market was growing; MAUS V1 by Spiegelman made a
small and overlooked DEBUT, only to win a 1992 Pulitzer Prize! Judge Dredd
by Eagle delighted Fans;
** CEREBUS THE AARDVARK was in its 9th Year with #100 coming in 1987;
CEREBUS was establishing it foothold as one of the most collectible and
enduring Alternative comics of all time, values of early issue were soaring,
better known than TMNT; I often recall when DAVE SIM did an Autograph
Session in my Winnipeg Store in the Early 1980's, long-lineup and a very
busy day! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was only in its 3rd year, originally
seen as a Gimmick comic with #1 impossible to find, thus the collectible
value was value soaring; When it was announced CEREBUS was going to Team-Up
with the Turtles in TMNT #8, many of my regular Comic Subscription buyers
requested at add to their List, with several buyers wanted 5 to 10 copies
each. Up until issue #7, we were ordering about 50 copies each of TMNT, but
for #8 we ordered 300 Copies; It turned out to be a good decision, as we
sold out Six Times our normal Order in less than a month. It was actually
one of the Greatest and Historic Crossover Independent Comics events of
Decade. Fast forward 37 years to 2023, with Zillions of comics printed, and
fans obsessed with The MCU (Marvel cinematic Universe) this Classic
Crossover has been mostly forgotten, with the collectible value stalled.
Perhaps the Reboot TMNT #8 will remind Fans of this overlooked 1980's
Classic Crossover Key issue!

"'Nipples & Whipped Cream'!?! FINALLY this Blog is worth reading again!!!" (doesn't actually contain anything about Nipples, or whipped cream...)

Hi, Everybody!

Well, ya run a batch of faxes, and Dave sends more...

Brazil!
Eduardo sent me, and I forwarded up to "The Big Giant Head":
Dears Mr. Sim - and Manly Matt Down,

Thank you so much for the reply.

Mr. Sim, I think I understand everything.

Well, I think I've come to a conclusion after reading everything you've written.

Ideally, then, we really start with SWORDS OF CEREBUS.

Here's what I thought: we launched the first SWORDS and tested the audience.

If everything goes well, we go to the end, with the six volumes, equivalent to the first 25 issues.

Passing this first phase and everything going well, we moved on to the phone books.

In the sixth volume of SWORDS, I publish a SLIPCASE, which simulates a phone volume book, for the collector to pack the six-volume collection, with the inscription of VOLUME 1 on spine. What do you think of the idea?

I believe it will take us a year, a year and a few months to complete, if there is good public reception for all six volumes of SWORDS.

With that in mind, I have a few questions to go on:

1. Will we have a publishing contract?

2. The Brazilian public receiving CEREBUS well, would you assure me that I can publish the material to the end?

3. Can the advanced and royalties (payment) be paid for my translation into Portuguese/Brazilian? Once the material is ready for printing, would I send you the PDF (or JPG, whichever you prefer) for publication on your platform?

4. The material of SWORDS Volume 1 + images for dissemination in the CATARSE campaign, could you send me when, so that I can work on the material?

5. I thought about publishing online, one issue a week, as you suggested. The problem is that translation and layout costs would be high anyway. I publishing the material in print, these costs will be generated in the Catarse campaign.

6. Now I understand everything you said. Really, starting slow is more "on the floor". It will take less time and the unit cost for the Brazilian public will be lower, therefore, selling copies will become easier.

7. As "Jack the Ripper" says, let's go by parts, but what I'm thinking: in case it works everything was right in this first phase (success of SWORDS volume 1 and, consequently, of the another five volumes, completing volume 1 PHONE BOOK - which I believe will take about a year / a year and a half - 18 months), my idea is to publish the PHONE BOOKS in two editions for year. So I think we'll reach the end in 8 to 10 years. All right for you? I think after half the material, phone books have fewer pages, right? Perhaps I manage to publish more than two volumes a year, but roughly speaking, I think the deadline approximate conclusion would be this, right?

Well, I guess that's it.

I'm ready to start. I have already activated translator and diagrammer.

I'm waiting for you sir so I can start.

Thank you so much for everything.

Yours sincerely,
Best regards

Eduardo Alves
Editora Futuro
When I sent it to Dave, I said:
Dave,
Latest from Eduardo.
I look forward to your response.
Specifically to points 1 & 3.
Manly
 Dave sez:
Eddie responds to Dave's thingy of yesterday:
Since Eddie was talking about Heritage, they DO have all sorts of Neat Stuff. (original art and whatnots. Click the blue "Heritage".) They ALSO have an auction going right now that has a number of Canadian Price Variants. Which, longtime readers/viewers/"fans"/what-have-yous, know, Dave is trading Doug Sulipa signed Cerebus comics for (I think CiH? issues...). Well, a bunch of them are going for a dollar or less. But a few are big money items (click the blue "going right now" to see.)
A few that jumped out at me:
Masters of the Universe #1 9.8 which Dave has a 9.0 of. Now, Dave's is a CGC, and the Heritage's is a CBCS. I have NO IDEA what the difference is. Presumably it's a different company. Are the grades comparable? No clue.
DC Comics Presents #68 9.8 which I think is a funny cover:
Currently selling for a dollar ($30 with Buyer's Premium)

The New Mutants #14 9.8
It's NOT S'ym's first appearance, but it MIGHT be his first cover appearance...
Also, a dollar.

I mean, they aren't ALL going for cheap. Amazing Spider-Man #239 9.8 is going for $105

Alpha Flight #1 9.8 is $280What If? #46 9.8 is $155
And X-Men #181 9.9 is $180

Anyway, Dave also sent me photos of him signing the next Cerebus in Hell?:

Which leads to Matt's Stupid Project #1, but...uh...I think I'ma sit on that for a little longer...

Masters Of The Universe CND price variant (Dave's Weekly Update #444)

Hi, Everybody!

Dave's Weekly Update:

Wow.

That's...weird.

I'm a giant Cerebus fan "Really Matt? We didn't notice..." I'm ALSO a giant Masters of the Universe fan.

And tomorrow is...um...another day.

Anyway, a couple of years ago I traded a bunch of my MOTU toys for a painting...of Cerebus:
Actually, THREE paintings of Cerebus...

And, with tomorrow being...

Anyway, it just struck me as weird...

UPDATE THAT'S IMPORTANT AS @%&!:
If you HAVEN'T gotten your request in to Eddie at eddiesdoar@gmail.com, with HOW you want your Pieces of Turtles 8.2, you're a REAL pain in the ass, ya know that?
Hey,

- There are photos of Dave signing Swords of Cerebus 6-Packs, as there were some people who bought either v 1 - 6, v 7 - 12, or v 1 -12.

- A photo of all the shipping packages from Swords of Cerebus 6-Pack packages and packages from POT8.2.

- Dave signing this month's comic (regular cover and variant cover).

Thanks to those that have given their information to Eddie, this helps us a lot. A good number of comics have been shipped out.

There are still a good number of people that have NOT given their information.

Thanks so much for your support. Have an awesome day,
Dave and Rolly

So Death's Dark Treaders, my lil' band of Rebels, has gotten $XX,XXX together to try and purchase all 22 pages of original art to Cerebus #4. There are fifteen of us. (I'ma NOT giving the exact amount, because I don't want "the enemy" to know EXACTLY how much we're bidding...)

The deal is, as of right now, $2,000 guarantees you get a page of original art. More money moves you up the list for picking which page you get. (Dave gets first pick.) If you wanna kick in $4,000, you get TWO pages (we got a guy who did just that.) If you wanna kick in LESS than $2,000, you aren't guaranteed a page, but if we get less than 22 people, than everybody who pledges less than $2,000 gets a page too.

And EVERYBODY who pledges gets prints of all 22 pages and the recreated cover.

If you folks on the other side of the world will keep half an eye on your email this will be your best chance to snag one of these when we announce it. Towards the end of the campaign we'll release two more around this time of day.

Forget about this. It's from Yesterday. So the Proof is gone.

We're still awaiting final word on what the shipping cost will be for the Print-On-Demand CAN portfolios. Actually, Dave has quite a few portfolios in storage including, I'm told, a lot of CAN5s. CAN5 features stunning original art reproductions from the highly praised, JAKA'S STORY.

More on this in a minute...

And we've passed the halfway point to the first Stretch Goal. The Giant-Size Cerebus Trading Card seen a few updates back, is officially available to all backers when the campaign reaches $12,000. It's a tough goal, but Dave feels strongly that this year-long process is to test out things people might want by sending out a fanzine with a fancy gold cover. But, if enough people buy enough of these things and the other items offered, Dave will let it out there with the caveat that you may have an advanced copy of the first card, but if the card set doesn't happen, or it gets changed to smaller sizes, or any number of things, you were warned that you may have a unique, one of a kind thing that only a couple of hundred people own. Not a bad thing either way, really.
So, the campaign is currently over halfway there.

Update the second (canonically #8):
As promised, here are the shipping rates. If you select either option you will see the Surface shipping rate. Included below are the Air Rates with Tracking. If you wish to choose the second option just increase your pledge by that amount and let us know in the comments or at the end of the campaign. Inflation and, you know... the thing, are impacting shipping rates worldwide. We may be sending things by carrier pigeon next time.
Thanks to everyone for a great first half!
And Dave has a message for me (and you guys I guess...):
And then Dave also sent:

So if you can get there. Now you know.
