Where were YOU in 1982? (Specifically between October 1st to November 7th.)

Hi, Everybody!

So, I've mentioned the Waverly Press' latest book, Bobby Grossman’s LOW FIDELITY, the Kickstarter for which ends in 59 hours (so two days and eleven hours...), well, the next* book is another Dave Sim/Aardvark-Vanaheim collaboration.

"Yeah, we know, The Last Day..."

Sorry imaginary A Moment of Cerebus reader who lives rent-free in my head, but you're wrong:
*as far as I know. I mean The Waverly Press might be doing another book that ISN'T Cerebus related...

ANYWAY, this is a book that DAVE started putting together in 82/83 and eventually decided to shelve.

Dave has sent everything he has on file to the Waverly Press, and they're starting to go through it and see what's there.

So, as the title up there says: Where were YOU in 1982? Me? I was three. But, if you weren't a small child, The Waverly Press would love to hear from you if have:
  • Any drawings Dave made in 82
  • Any promotional material from the stops like flyers, posters, etc.
  • Anything interesting that can go into the book.
Anyone who gives them scans will receive a note of thanks in the book.

They are also looking for:
  • Any comic shops that are still in business that hosted stops to see if any firsthand accounts can be had.
  • Also, any Cerebus readers that attended any of the tour stops that can share their memories
What AMOC has, is:
And then doing a Google for Dave Sim 1982 turned up:
So, if YOU have anything that'd be of interest, shoot me an email at momentofcerebus@gmail.com and I'll get it to the Waverly Press.

And here's a little preview:

Speaking of momentofcerebus@gmail.com, you can email there any questions you might have for Dave for June's Please Hold For Dave Sim, which we'll be recording on Thursday.

And, you can shoot an email to momentofcerebus@gmail.com if you wanna get in on the Death's Dark Tread auction which we are ONCE again winning thanks to our latest backer who's pledged $5000. The deal is still:
Everybody gets prints of the whole shebang.
If you donate $2000, you're guaranteed a page.
If you donate more than everybody else, you get first dibs.
If we get LESS than 23 people, EVERYBODY gets a page.
If you want your page to go back to Dave, it'll get sent to him.
I gotta check the numbers, but I THINK we're around ten grand for this little attempt. With ten people or less. So if you want a page, get in NOW.

Hey Matt -

So for clarification: any sketches from 1982, or preferably only sketches dated from during the US Tour dates?
Scans / pics sent to AMOC and you'll forward to Dagon?

...I might just have to 'borrow' from Junior's college fund and chip in some $$ on that Heritage auction...little brat probably won't go to college anyway...

Steve,

ANY sketch from 1982 would be great. If it's specifically from the Tour that'd be even greater.

Plus any stories anybody has.

And Junior will get more of an education from a page of original art with, I say with, Elrod of Melvinbone on it.

1982? I had just turned 17 in September. I think that number alone is a good excuse for not (or barely) being even remotely aware of what Cerebus was.

The good news here is that negative scanners have been around for at least two decades. If the negatives are in good shape it should be no problem. It sounds like they've been in a box somewhere which is key. Keeping them out of the light all this time means there should be at least some, if not all, good images.
