"'Nipples & Whipped Cream'!?! FINALLY this Blog is worth reading again!!!" (doesn't actually contain anything about Nipples, or whipped cream...)

Hi, Everybody!

Well, ya run a batch of faxes, and Dave sends more...

Brazil!
Eduardo sent me, and I forwarded up to "The Big Giant Head":
Dears Mr. Sim - and Manly Matt Down,

Thank you so much for the reply.

Mr. Sim, I think I understand everything.

Well, I think I've come to a conclusion after reading everything you've written.

Ideally, then, we really start with SWORDS OF CEREBUS.

Here's what I thought: we launched the first SWORDS and tested the audience.

If everything goes well, we go to the end, with the six volumes, equivalent to the first 25 issues.

Passing this first phase and everything going well, we moved on to the phone books.

In the sixth volume of SWORDS, I publish a SLIPCASE, which simulates a phone volume book, for the collector to pack the six-volume collection, with the inscription of VOLUME 1 on spine. What do you think of the idea?

I believe it will take us a year, a year and a few months to complete, if there is good public reception for all six volumes of SWORDS.

With that in mind, I have a few questions to go on:

1. Will we have a publishing contract?

2. The Brazilian public receiving CEREBUS well, would you assure me that I can publish the material to the end?

3. Can the advanced and royalties (payment) be paid for my translation into Portuguese/Brazilian? Once the material is ready for printing, would I send you the PDF (or JPG, whichever you prefer) for publication on your platform?

4. The material of SWORDS Volume 1 + images for dissemination in the CATARSE campaign, could you send me when, so that I can work on the material?

5. I thought about publishing online, one issue a week, as you suggested. The problem is that translation and layout costs would be high anyway. I publishing the material in print, these costs will be generated in the Catarse campaign.

6. Now I understand everything you said. Really, starting slow is more "on the floor". It will take less time and the unit cost for the Brazilian public will be lower, therefore, selling copies will become easier.

7. As "Jack the Ripper" says, let's go by parts, but what I'm thinking: in case it works everything was right in this first phase (success of SWORDS volume 1 and, consequently, of the another five volumes, completing volume 1 PHONE BOOK - which I believe will take about a year / a year and a half - 18 months), my idea is to publish the PHONE BOOKS in two editions for year. So I think we'll reach the end in 8 to 10 years. All right for you? I think after half the material, phone books have fewer pages, right? Perhaps I manage to publish more than two volumes a year, but roughly speaking, I think the deadline approximate conclusion would be this, right?

Well, I guess that's it.

I'm ready to start. I have already activated translator and diagrammer.

I'm waiting for you sir so I can start.

Thank you so much for everything.

Yours sincerely,
Best regards

When I sent it to Dave, I said:
Dave,
Latest from Eduardo.
I look forward to your response.
Specifically to points 1 & 3.

 Dave sez:
Eddie responds to Dave's thingy of yesterday:
Since Eddie was talking about Heritage, they DO have all sorts of Neat Stuff. (original art and whatnots. Click the blue "Heritage".) They ALSO have an auction going right now that has a number of Canadian Price Variants. Which, longtime readers/viewers/"fans"/what-have-yous, know, Dave is trading Doug Sulipa signed Cerebus comics for (I think CiH? issues...). Well, a bunch of them are going for a dollar or less. But a few are big money items (click the blue "going right now" to see.)
A few that jumped out at me:
Masters of the Universe #1 9.8 which Dave has a 9.0 of. Now, Dave's is a CGC, and the Heritage's is a CBCS. I have NO IDEA what the difference is. Presumably it's a different company. Are the grades comparable? No clue.
DC Comics Presents #68 9.8 which I think is a funny cover:
Currently selling for a dollar ($30 with Buyer's Premium)

The New Mutants #14 9.8
It's NOT S'ym's first appearance, but it MIGHT be his first cover appearance...
Also, a dollar.

I mean, they aren't ALL going for cheap. Amazing Spider-Man #239 9.8 is going for $105

Alpha Flight #1 9.8 is $280What If? #46 9.8 is $155
And X-Men #181 9.9 is $180

Anyway, Dave also sent me photos of him signing the next Cerebus in Hell?:

Which leads to Matt's Stupid Project #1, but...uh...I think I'ma sit on that for a little longer...
