Your first tease of the 82 Tour book. (You're welcome...)

Hi, Everybody!

HEY!

Remember that bit in the Rigamarole I post pretty much everyday about the 82 Tour book?
If YOU have anything related to the 1982 Tour, that'd be of interest, shoot me an email at momentofcerebus@gmail.com and I'll get it to the Waverly Press.
That'd be the one.

Well in the latest update for the Remastered Form & Void there's:
Greetings backers,

This update brings a lot of news.

First, we finally have a ship date from the printer for Form & Void which is mid-October. We have tried to get the books to press sooner but so far it doesn’t look like it will happen (but you never know). Like a lot of other publishers, we are facing paper shortages and numerous production and shipping delays. If anything changes, we will let you know.

The good news is that we are going to include two bonus gifts which will hopefully make up for the delay. The first will be a Form & Void bookmark so you will never lose your spot during bedtime reading.

The second bonus will be a promotional trading card for the forthcoming Dave & Deni Sim 1982 Cerebus Tour Book.

What is the 1982 Tour Book you ask?

In 1982 Dave and Deni traveled to comic shops all over North America to meet their readers and promote Cerebus. What most Cerebus readers might not know is that Dave kept a detailed tour diary and planned to publish the tour book back in 1982 but eventually shelved the project. Dave even went so far as to paste-up 45 pages of his diary with photos that he and Deni took on the road. Dave sent us his actual paste-ups and about 100 photographs with possibly many more coming and the book will be based around this vintage, unpublished material. The Sim’s were busy in 1982 and there is a lot more going into the book including interviews, unpublished art and other rarities from the Cerebus Archive.

As of this writing the book is about 200 pages but could grow because with a book like this, more is definitely better!

The 1982 Tour book will be offered as a deluxe signed & numbered hardcover and a premium softcover, similar to Form & Void.

We’re working on major surprises for this one so stay tuned for what will be the comics event of the decade, 40 years (literally) in the making!

If you have any of Dave’s drawings from 1982, flyers, photographs or personal stories from any of the tour stops, we want to hear from you!

For now, enjoy this sample of what’s to come.

As always, thank you for your support.

My buddy James Windsor-Smith has a Kickstarter too. You might remember him as the guy who had a stroke or two and sent Dave a Cerebus Sketchbook full of Cerebus drawings he did AFTER the second stroke. He's looking for $2000, and he needs another $556. Help a 'brudda out.

Everyone's pledge has cleared so there are no drop outs this time and while we still await 8 responses to our survey we can see what they ordered and fulfillment can go forward. However, if we do not have an address for those 8 backers we can't send your items until you, everybody say it, fill out your survey. Only then will Kickstarter release your address to us.

Living the Line got a new series with Carson Grubaugh  The Abolition of Man #1. It's a comic "drawn" by an AI.

They also published The Strange Death of Alex Raymond, which has the website of annotations. (And, apparently, over 250 pages of mock-ups for volume 3. More on that as I find out...)

In Oliver's Cerebus movie: The Absurd, Surreal, Metaphysical, and Fractured Destiny of Cerebus the Aardvark is currently available "Plex", "Xumo", "Vimeo On Demand", "Tubi".  And if you're in Brazil...

The Cerebus Guide to Self-Publishing is BACK on CerebusDownloads.com (if it doesn't show up, refresh the page.) And that green Guys isn't quite the Remastered version. (So quit asking...)

"[Deni] decides to keep going barefoot. The street are so clean, so immaculately kept up that there is no difficulty in doing so."

Ah, yes. The famously clean sidewalks of New York City.
