A Truthful Song, by Kipling (Dave's weekly update #640)

Hi, Everybody!

Dave has things on Heritage. These are FROM the Cerebus Archive, and Dave (eventually) gets ALL the money (minus the fees and whatnot. Plus he won't believe it until the money crosses his hand... *NOT* my first "Dave waiting to be paid" rodeo...):

Anyway, like it says on the Logo:
That little bit on the bottom there...

It's Friday, so that means:
Dave's Weekly Update:

Well, it's been a week, and we's all now updated, right?

HAHAHA! Nah man, there's a Kickstarter going on! They's got Tracing Papers, and Stretch Goals, and CAN29 (I mean, if you think about it, each CAN is the EARLIEST Ten pages of a given phonebook in the Cerebus Archive. This is CAN13, so it's the first ten pages of Going Home, which is the first ten pages of Cerebus #232. But you can get the SECOND ten pages from the same issue, which (if Dave were to continue the CAN sequencing after CAN16, with the second set of the ten earliest pages from the Cerebus volume as CAN17) (something that isn't guaranteed, but I'm on a roll, so shut up and go with it...) would mean the second half of Issue #232 would be CAN29. (And the second set of issue #220 that was offered with CAN12 would be CAN28...) Anyway, like I said, there's all sorts of neat stuff in the Kickstarter. In fact Dave made a video:

You're gonna make me repeat all that ain't ya?
Since we talkin' Kickstarters:
Living the Line's next Kickstarter has ended. There is an option for late backers, so if you were waiting for the last minute, you messed up, better click over there and hope you can get in...
And I was asked: "Scott Palochik & Dreamscape Publishing has the 4th issue of MARCVS live on Kickstarter now. If you could kindly put it up on the Rigamole, it would be greatly appreciated."

Okay, back to "bizness as usual"...

A Moment of Cerebus runs Saturday through Friday.

The past Week in AMOC:
  • Saturday: Off-White House Bulletin, True-Man Edition!
  • Sunday: HYYYYYYPPPEE!!!
  • Monday: The Monday Report, and the Transcript to Please Hold 9/2023
  • Tuesday: Since Jen did the First show, she has two more lined up, I'm back posting on Tuesdays... Still posting to help raise funds on The Strange Death of Alex Raymond GoFundMe$135 until page 130 of Dave's POST-Carson SDOAR mock-up pages unlocks. Anyway, I'ma post ALL of glamourpuss over the next how many weeks. AND GoFundMe has a MONTHLY option now, so you can schedule a reoccurring donation.
  • Wednesday: MORE Weekly Cerebus in Hell? Strips. This one is written by Dave. Follow along on Instagram. And https://www.ebay.com/itm/236664955396 (Somebody was looking for the Vardalorian...)
  • Thursday: Margaret has posted ALL of Albatross One. (If you click that link, you can see all the pages of the notebook, OR, you can get a PHYSICAL copy here.) And all of The Last Notebook. Now she's gonna burn through all of Notebook #21. So sit back and get ready for pages and pages and pages of walls of handwritten text... This week,  Viktor Davis has entered the Chat!
  • Friday: that's this post. You're reading the Friday post right now. This is STILL like that bit in Spaceballs. (Should I link to LAST WEEK'S Update in these things?)
Okay, so that was the last week on AMOC.

If we're doing Please Hold next month Dave is giving Everybody! an option: He'll either work on Please Hold for May, or his notes on the '82 Tour Book. YOU can decide which he does by donating at CerebusDownloads. There are two buttons, if you want Please Hold, donate with the button labeled as such. If you want the '82 Tour Book, donate with the button labeled that. And if you want both, donate to both. (Dave never said what he'd do if there was a tie...) '82 is currently winning, so if you have a question, send it in to momentofcerebus@gmail.com AND throw a couple of bucks Dave's way by clicking the "Please Hold For Dave Sim" button. Or else it's '82 for you...

Just in:

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the AMOC Race Course for what might be the last race of the month as we come into the homestretch (unless something drastic happens within the next 4 days with the donations amounts before I have to send the final results to Dave)!

We left off with ’82 TOUR-DIARY far in the lead, having broken triple digits at  $111 and PLEASE-HOLD–FOR-DAVE-SIM sitting $49. Horses are taking their positions now, and.. Ladies and Gentlemen, it looks like we have some celebrities in the crowd!

Over in the Premium “We Just Want To Live Our Lives” Suite, we can see Meghan and Harry sitting, ready to see the outcome of what has been so far a spectacular race here at AMOC!

And over in the lower bleachers are Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry, back from Coachella and looking like a couple of fun-loving college kids! Obviously since leaving office and shacking up with Ms. Perry (from what I understand, there are no tariffs involved in the relationship, just a lot of trade-offs. Nyuck Nycuk Nyuck. Sorry folks, a little matrimonial humour there), the ex-Prime Minister has reconsidered his 2025 stance on Canadians avoiding travel to the U.S., and I’m sure all my fellow Canadians will agree it’s great to see him out and about and enjoying himself!

Okay, everyone’s getting ready, on their marks…annndddd….<ding!>  THE HORSES ARE OFF!

’82 TOUR-DIARY still leads with its dominant position. PLEASE-HOLD maintaining a steady gallop but it’s looking like ’82 TOUR-DIARY all the way. Coming up now on the far turn, and PLEASE-HOLD has a $1 donation! A glimmer of hope for PLEASE-HOLD. But will it be enough to give PLEASE-HOLD the kick it needs to overcome the gap between the horses, or is ’82 TOUR-DIARY too far gone for any chance of a catch up? Coming into the home stretch and both horses are locked into their paces! It’s looking like it’s going to be ’82 TOUR-DIARY all the way hom…ANOTHER $50 DONATION FOR ’82 TOUR-DIARY AS IT CROSSES THE FINISH LINE!!!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, ’82 TOUR-DIARY HAS BLOWN PLEASE-HOLD AWAY AT $161!!! THAT’S $161 for ’82 TOUR-DIARY and $50 for PLEASE-HOLD!

What a race! Looks like it will be 82 TOUR-DIARY next month, unless the judges’ review turns up something in the post-race analysis (or some hefty donations for PLEASE-HOLD come in over the next few days). We’ll make sure to keep everyone updated before the final postings, but at this point, I feel confident to say the winner is ’82 TOUR-DIARY!!

Join us next month, when we’ll see if ‘82 TOUR-DIARY will win again, or if PLEASE-HOLD will be able to pull off a win. And we’ll leave you with a word from our sponsor: LISS SPORTS DEODORANT (“Strong Enough For A Man, But Made For A Bruin”)
