Hi, Everybody!
Like it says on the Logo:
Dave's Weekly Update:
Well, it's been a week, and we's all now updated, right?
HAHAHA! Nah man, there's a Kickstarter going on! Five days left. There's special last minute "blink and you'll miss it" items being added, so if you're waiting until the last minute, DION TURNER, now's the time to get in on this.
Ya ever wonder if Dave gets involved in something and thinks about what'll happen before it's too late? Yeah, me neither. Anyway, the Cerebus the Aardvark #1 (and Spawn #10) en Español ended, and then... Well, let's just say that nuclear engineers always start with "what's the worst that can happen?" and plan and design from there. Dave is no nuclear engineer...
CEREBUS #1 & Dave Sim's Version of SPAWN DIEZ en Español is the subject of an intellectual property dispute and is currently unavailable.
The text of the dispute:

Re: CEREBUS #1 & Dave Sim's Version of SPAWN DIEZ en Español
Description of copyrighted material: Todd McFarlane is the creator and owner of Spawn. All copyrights belong to him, including all international rights to translate and reprint issues of Spawn. That applies to Spawn issue 10.
Description of infringing material: This Kickstarter is asking for money for the Spanish version of Spawn issue 10, of which Todd is the sole owner. We have NOT been notified nor gave ANY permission for this to be reprinted via Kickstarter. All rights including international reprinting rights, are solely Todd McFarlane's.
I'm sure this was an automated thing. I'm sure Todd's legal team has AI "seek & destroy" any Spawn use they find, but this seems to me like a reason for Dave to "give notice" to Todd and Peter Laird/Kevin Eastman when he wants to do anything with Spawn #10 or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #8. It's just good form. I look forward to the inevitable resolution of this in the years to come...
Friend to the Blog, Steve Peters new Comicverse issue on Kickstarter, successfully met it's goal yesterday, so YAY!
And, while not a Kickstarter, I'm making the attempt to get the Pud's Tavern Logo on the kid's Dance team's merch. Get in on this if you want...
Okay, back to "bizness as usual"...
___________________________A Moment of Cerebus runs Saturday through Friday.
The past Week in AMOC:
- Saturday: More of Dave's '82 Tour Book notes. And Dave's CONTINUING the Please PAY For Dave Sim format. If you want more '82 Tour Book discussion, go HERE, and pay for "Dave Sim 82 Tour Book". But if you'd rather hear more stereotypical Please Hold (*shudder*) "content", go HERE and pay for "Please Hold For Dave Sim". Either way, I have to amuse myself in the Editing Suite assembling these things... (wanna find out how many of these I already own? Then you're gonna wanna pay for more '82...)
- Sunday: The sexagenarian becomes a septuagenarian...
- Monday: The Monday Report, and the Please Hold Transcript from 11/2023.
- Tuesday: Jen actually turned up to post to help raise funds on The Strange Death of Alex Raymond GoFundMe, $190 until page 132 of Dave's POST-Carson SDOAR mock-up pages unlocks. AND GoFundMe has a MONTHLY option now, so you can schedule a reoccurring donation.
- Wednesday: MORE Weekly Cerebus in Hell? Strips. This one is written by Dave. Follow along on Instagram. And https://www.ebay.com/itm/236664955396 (Somebody was looking for the Vardalorian...) And not to be "THAT GUY", but if you're doing a weekly comic strip to (in part) promote your comical bookee, wouldn't you link to the latest Kickstarter that has the newest issue? Especially since that's the only way to get the damn things now that your former distributor has gone "tits up", and therefore Kickstarter is the only way for your fans to get their "fix"? Seems like a dereliction of duty to me... Somebody should write a strongly worded letter to the Editor about this. (I know Birdsong made all these posts months ago, and therefore didn't know WHEN the Kickstarter was gonna be live. So it's not that big a deal... If only this website had an Editor in Chief or something that could handle these things... Maybe if everybody asks Santa for one this Christmas...)
- Thursday: Margaret has posted ALL of Albatross One. (If you click that link, you can see all the pages of the notebook, OR, you can get a PHYSICAL copy here.) And all of The Last Notebook. Now she's gonna burn through all of Notebook #21. So sit back and get ready for pages and pages and pages of walls of handwritten text... This week, More Viktor Davis monologue!
- Friday: that's this post. You're reading the Friday post right now. This is STILL like that bit in Spaceballs. (Should I link to LAST WEEK'S Update in these things?)
Okay, so that was the last week on AMOC.
