"At dawn, the festivities commence and beer tickets are twelve for a crown."

Hi, Everybody!

Little Orphan Aardvark Secret Society member "Spatula" has started the ball rolling on the Death's Dark Tread auction warchest:
Greetings. I really like your idea of the entire issue being returned to Dave. If everyone who goes in above $2000 would agree to forego taking a page so all 22 pages would go back to the archive that would be amazing.
I can go in for $2078.11. Two thousand for the page level, seventy-eight for the year it came out and eleven cents for my CAN#. Cents? Jeez! Jockeying for a pick position if folks can't all agree to returning the entire issue. If he can't get it all, I certainly want a slice of the pie.

Spatula
Which brings us up to what Iguana?

For the people in the cheap seats, my idea for this was:
So MY idea is everybody who's interested in going in together emails thevarkwars@gmail.com, with how much you are willing to kick in. Title the email "Death's Dark Tread". If you wanna be David and kick in two grand, you get to have a page. (Most money gets first pick. A tie gets broken by a coin toss.) Less than two grand, gets you a Cerebus Archive Portfolio 1.4 (prints of all 22 pages, and the cover recreation.), as long as you kick in eighty bucks. Less than that and you get a remastered #4 comic(? I admit, I didn't think that far ahead...) If less than 22 people kick in 2K apiece, the "un-bought" pages go back to Dave for the Archive. Make sense? Great! Start looking through the couch cushions for change...

Mags said $300.

New total $2678.11. (with FOUR people.) I'm not making another cartoon...today.

Heh. Since I "came in" at issue 37, when I first read this I had absolutely no idea who the Groucho guy was.
