So, this question is for older commenters what was the appeal of Elizabeth Taylor? I have only lived long enough in this earth to have been witnessed to the buffoonery of tabloid coverage of her marriages and appetites in the '80s and '90s. What was it like being a fan of Liz Taylor in her prime?
In her prime (19?) she was drop-dead gorgeous, with violet eyes to die for. And then she became a decent actress. Plus, the drama queens out there lived and died on her on-again, off-again, on-again, off-again, on-again, off-again relationship with Richard Burton. Not to mention her friendship with Michael Jackson.
My guess? In what approached her "real life", she was probably bug-fuck crazy.
