A few years ago I scanned all of Dave Sim's notebooks. He had filled 36 notebooks during the years he created the monthly Cerebus series, covering issues #20 to 300, plus the other side items -- like the Epic stories, posters and prints, convention speeches etc. A total of 3,281 notebook pages detailing his creative process. I never really got the time to study the notebooks when I had them. Just did a quick look, scanned them in and sent them back to Dave as soon as possible. So this regular column is a chance for me to look through those scans and highlight some of the more interesting pages.
The last time we look at Dave Sim's notebook #13 was back in October 2016 in Vacation Sketches Part Deux. We've seen the inside of it six times, which covers Cerebus #112 / 113 and some pre-planning for Jaka's Story. However, even though we've seen it many times, we've not seen the cover of it yet.

Some of the past articles on this notebook have show cased the sketches Dave did while on vacation in San Jose, California. On page 70 we see some more sketches of people, some Jaka's Story preparation and some miscellaneous quotes.

She got the priest to break his ten year vow of silence by saying "Don't be so unhappy." Without thinking he replied "I'm not" and burst into tears. She had patted his hand and smiled. Then she could see that he was think about it and he began to laugh.
