Weekly Update #198: Dave's Got A Brand New Smoking Jacket

Anonymous said...

I remember when I still lived in Matt's hometown (a good five years ago) and I was hanging out with the Dow-meister one day, when he told me that Dave had (even back then) broached the subject of needing a smoking jacket. Matt told me, back then, that he had begun his search for a smoking jacket to send to Dave. I think he had started by searching at thrift stores and Goodwill. (Can you elucidate, Matt?)

Remember, folks, this is the same guy who presented Dave with a gold watch, back in 2004, upon the occasion of Dave's "retirement". I'm told that the watch still sits on Dave's desk.

I can't go to FanExpo this year, but it's ironic because I'm seeing Alice Cooper/Deep Purple with my dad at the Budwizer Stage just about 20 min away.

Not enough time to do both. Oh well, I did get to Toronto Comic Con and Niagara Falls Comic Con earlier this year.

And Dave, how does a person in Toronto screw in a light bulb? They stand perfectly still and the Universe rotates around them. ;)

Ah, but how many Torontonians does it take to change a light bulb? Three; one to change the bulb, and two to go to New York City to make sure that's how they do it there.

One thing I've learned from this site (and Dave) is that apparently within the rest of Canada, Torontonians are looked upon as ... snooty hipsters, perhaps? As evidenced by these savage (savage!) jokes at their expense. Such slightly less than polite commentary! The horror!
