Dave wants his business done on the streets, so I get all of these faxes that he wants posted. But don't worry, there's some purty Art here for those of you who don't care about the business side of Aardvark-Vanaheim...
Item 1: a correction to Please Hold For Dave Sim 12/2024
I'm gonna have to send Dave photos or scans of what NECA's Turtle figures packaging looks like. I'm thinking that HE'S thinking of the Playmates Turtles Figures of yore, and not what NECA does. Wait, that sounds like work...
Item 4: Dave's retirement funds?
"Real Time" is a VERY relative thing around AMOC, since some days I just wanna "get down to the Floridia for margaritas" as fast as I can. This came in on the fourth.Item 5: Diamond owes AV money
Eddie's idea to have a check sent to the US address? That's me. The GOOD news is the strike is over. The BAD news is the USPS can't send anything to Canada until they start accepting mail again after taking care of the backlog.
Item 6: AV's fate is written in the stars...
Item 8: Them crazy Brazilians
So, should I send this to Eduardo, the guy who was trying to do Cerebus and is, I believe, currently doing SDOAR?
I don't think they were hand delivering the check Dave...
Item 7: The Ninja High School/Cerebus crossover
Thoughts you guys?
Item 9: The latest...
About that...
I checked with Dallas, and the check is currently in MISSISSAUGA, ON. So the rest of this might be moot.

Dave possibly publishing in Brazil sounds like a great opportunity.
Dave's working on a version of TSDoAR that will be published by Aardvark-Vanaheim, correct? The TSDoAR that has already been published (by someone else) is different than the (extended) version of what Dave is working on right now? I'm confused by the different versions of TSDoAR.
So, A version of what would become The Strange Death of Alex Raymond first appeared in glamourpuss.
After that fizzled out, Dave began work on a version of The Strange Death of Alex Raymond that was to be published by IDW. I believe Dave got an advance to produce the book.
I'm not quite sure how that fell apart, but in 2020, Dave started planning a tour of every California comic shop to promote The Strange Death of Alex Raymond. To fund that, he produced the California Test Market Edition, available through Patreon, which was Book One of the version Dave was producing from IDW.
COVID killed that, and Dave gave up.
Carson, who started working with Dave after Dave's hand gave out, teamed with Sean Robinson to publish all the work Dave and Carson had produced for the IDW version (Books One, Two, and the ongoing Book Three.) along with an epilogue made just for that edition by Carson.
Dave continued to make mockups of pages.
At a certain point, Dave tried to draw again, and discovered he could. So he's been drawing pages (currently on page 635, I believe.) He wants to go back and draw all the pages he mocked up that Carson produced.
But he's going to finish the book before that happens.
(Except for the mockups that are to dark to be printed on The Strange Death of Alex Raymond Ashcans that Jen is producing that are going to print the mockups that Dave did after Carson's version was printed.
It's all basically the same book, just with more and more pages.

“DEFCON” (with an N) - short for “Defense readiness condition.”
Thanks, Matt, for the details. One final question: Will Dave's current version of "The Strange Death of Alex Raymond" be (self-)published by Aardvark-Vanaheim? Merry Christmas, everyone!
@AlNickerson
Phil Frey here. I'm doing the cleanup for the "Ashcans" of 'TSDoAR' and they, at least, will be published under the A-V banner. I assume that will be true for the fully-drawn material, as well.
How many people are trying to publish Cerebus in Brazil? Is it a matter of translation, or just licensing?
Wait, THIS "usual gang of idiots" is Dave Sim's "business roundtable?" Jeez, no wonder he lives on canned tuna and pineapple...
I'm glad that Dave finally got his Humble Bundle check. For what it's worth, the letter I sent to the San Francisco address earlier this month addressed to the CEO was returned back to me a couple days ago, "not deliverable as addressed"
