Please Hold for July 2025
Dave uses Potty Words.
SWEET!!!!!
Dave mentioned pictures of the Silver Snail from the 1980s. I couldn't find any on the net (probably why you didn't have any in the video), but I did find some pictures of the original building before they moved off of Queen Street in 2012 (they're back on Queen Street again now, but in a different building).

Hmmmm... Something to think about.
Great listen! I was wondering if Dave could elaborate on his objections to professional sport? I'm sure I'm one of the many formerly bitter dorks who developed a bit more perspective and respect for high school quarterbacks and the natural pecking order as a consequence of Dave's Mama's Boy essay. I remember in Collected Letters as well where Dave pointed out the increasing popularity of sport in a world of deck-stacking and diversity hires. Spending your life glued to ESPN isn't a particularly pious way to live of course, but the popularity of cricket in Islamic countries like Pakistan never seemed incongrous to me. Perhaps there's significance in Pakistan being less cricket-obsessed than its Hindu neighbour India though. Does Dave class sports as being like alcohol - i.e. benefits and drawbacks and the latter outweigh the former? Fan since #172. Thanks.
