SDoAR 3.23: Cerebus Silverspoon Page from BGCF #321 Up For Grabs

1) Manly and I had a very nice phone call yesterday about AMOC, the challenges of interacting with Dave sans fax, and trying to guesstimate how long it will take to get a response to pressing and not so pressing matters. Especially when we find ourselves in the final days of a Kickstarter. Why do I bring that up? Well, that's the next point.

2) I asked Dave two weeks ago (I think?) to give me a number between 1 and 34 so we can close out the last raffle. Since then? Crickets. So unless anyone disagrees, I am going to ask Dave's successor, Eddie Khanna, to act in his stead, effectively performing the duties of Office of the President when the office no longer has a phone or a fax. Everyone cool with that?

3) The next raffle is for a full-page Silverspoon strip from The Buyer's Guide for Comic Fandom #321, January 11, 1980. These are really hard to come by so, I hope everyone considers joining the raffle. Speaking of which ...

4) Last time I posted, I discussed raffle tickets were going to go for $5 a pop and no one complained, so let it be written, so let it be done. I also mentioned that all donations since the last raffle will be included, meaning we have 97 raffle tickets sold so far. If we break 150 tickets, I'll toss another Silverspoon page into the bucket.

5) Let's talk about the elephant in the room. I've averaging a post every other week and that was the topic du jour with Manly. I'm going to try to post more regularly, but perhaps with less ambitious plans each week. I'm also going to be in Edinburgh for the month of August debuting my one-woman show, Woman in the Arena, so even if the next few weeks go smoothly, just wait until August for more train wrecks ahead. Good times!

6) Two weeks ago, Anonymous asked, "I noticed something in my SDOAR hardcover: pages 59 through 74 are actually printed with the pages from 74-90, which are then printed again (catching up with the numbering). Is this just MY copy or is this a known defect?"

Michael R. chimed in with, "If you look up Matt Dow's AMOC post for Monday, November 15, 2021, you find that there were misprint copies made of SDOAR HC."

To which Anonymous responded, "Yes, I was aware of the 'missing blue ink pages' misprint, but my copy has all that fixed. The error in my copy is something I did not recall seeing anywhere before."

Anyone encounter this? All my hardcovers seem to be fine page number wise. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

7) Philip R. Frey has the next Ashcan proofs ready for my review, so once again I'm blocking, but who knows, maybe by next week I'll make some progress!

If you want to see how Carson Grubaugh finished the hardcover, well, you're going to need to purchase a copy of your own. HOWEVER, if you want to see how Dave Sim continued the story in the blue pages -- bring me the blue pages -- mockups that appeared in blue ink in final section of the hardcover can be found here...

This,
This, and this.

Then in June 2021, Dave picked up the story again and it continues herehereherehere, and here.

If you enjoy the journey, you can join us for all the new pages on Dropbox by donating $5 or more.
