SDoAR 3.12: "Simple Is Better. Stick with Simple."

Paul Slade said...

"Simple is better. Stick with simple."

Meaning the votes are in. Or rather, the single vote is in, and we are doing the raffle the old-fashioned way. Again.

Rules to win the Carson Grubaugh SDOAR Painting

Entries (or our equivalent of raffle tickets) cost $25 each and can be donated via lump sum to the Strange Death of Alex Raymond 2024 GoFundMe campaign through Monday, April 28, 2025 at midnight, PST. I will then randomly assign numbers to each entry and have Dave pull another Karnak, and I'll announce the winner on April 28, 2025. Cool? Cool.

So what is the raffle for again?

David Birdsong has Carson Grubaugh's painting that was done for an early version of SDOAR. The frame was damaged and there was no glass in it so he removed the art. The marks made by the frame can be seen below. 16 x 20 inches, acrylic on board.

Depending on what sort of traction we are getting, I might kick in a few more items to get the money coming in again because, well, it's been a slow month. Only $10 donated so far in March.

I'm still going through the next proof version of the Giant-Sized Ashcan #0, so more news on that front, one hopes, next week!

And this.

If you want to see how Carson Grubaugh finished the hardcover, well, you're going to need to purchase a copy of your own. HOWEVER, if you want to see how Dave Sim continued the story in the blue pages -- bring me the blue pages -- mockups that appeared in blue ink in final section of the hardcover can be found here...

This,
This, and this.

Then in June 2021, Dave picked up the story again and it continues here, then below.
