Minor query: Does Gerhard do the lettering here too?

Looks machine-generated to me.
whc03grady.
This is excellent stuff. It's kind of a drag that it's only in Heavy Metal, which I've always thought of as being kind of 'meh,' (and indeed, the issue in which the first installment appeared was all pretty much 'meh,' with only Morrison/Gerhard turning in anything of lasting worth). I hope like crazy two things: 1) this gets reprinted in a single volume once the run is complete, and 2) this puts Gerhard on the path of a lot of high-profile comics work. His work here is revelatory, to me - the character drawings are easily as good as the signature backgrounds.
And, duh. There's the announcement for the collected volume, coming this Thanksgiving to an Amazon near me. Thanks, Tim!
Looks waaaaay too depressing for me. I just saw the delightful film "A Streetcat Named Bob," which is much more my speed re:kitty cats.
Kind of looks like Fritz, who also came to a bad end.
