I can't figure it out, but she looks awfully familiar. Something inside me is saying "Fred Flintstone's Mother-In-Law" but I don't think you would be that cruel. :)
Also, Sean sent me whole batch of scans today of the drawings Dave has been doing, and WOW!, Dave is doing a hell of a lot more than lettering. There are full-blown drawings of Aunt Sadie, Donald Trump, Cerebus, and even Jack!
Seeing characters like Jack and Sadie drawn by another artist is really weird. They are amazing drawings but don't "feel" right, which set off a "these are my characters" reaction. A very surreal experience I never even imagined was possible before today.
What a troubling expose of one's ego! It is even more troubling to think I subconsciously felt some ownership over the likeness of another actual human being. Not a pleasant revelation.
Seems tightly linked to themes Dave takes up in SDAOR.
I just noticed that Aunt Sadie resembles the character of Pam Poovey from the TV show "Archer". As for the Flintstones connection you mentioned, Carson, I'm stumped. You're going to have to spill the beans or it's gonna drive me crazy.
Eddie, I was thinking "You Don't Know Jack" riotous punk anthem.
Gary, Sandra Gould, the second Gladys Kravits on Bewitched. She also did voice work for the Flintstones. None of which I knew when I grabbed an image of her off of Google. (I wish I remembered what search term I used.) The Bewitched thing is kind of funny because Jack is a "practicing witch".

Curious if anyone can tell who Aunt Sadie is based on?
Good job on the design for her Carson! I thought she was a Dave creation for sure!
I'm probably waaaaay off, but I'm gonna go with Etta Candy?
My vote goes for "Aunt Bee" from the Andy Griffith show, especially in Carson's panel.
She's sure got those pearls.

Gary,
There actually is a strong Flintstones connection!

"Keep Your Hands Off My Aunt Sadie!" should really be a song.
Sean, wanna get on that? Ha-ha.
Eddie,
I forwarded your message to Sean, went to the gym, by the time I got back there was a song in my e-mail. The dude is a savage!
Hopefully he posts it on Wednesday.
Haha! I can see it now: the B-side to the "You Don't Know Jack" 50's Juke Box Classic.
