Thanks (as always) to Dave Sim for his support and for taking the time to record two weekly updates in the same month recommending our comics.

Yup, I do know where the Turf Club is and yup, I will plan to be there! Bring Dave along from Toronto, Lee; he could play the tambourine (with his left hand)!

The last (and only) time I went to the Turf Club it was still a country-western bar, literally with sawdust on the dance floor - no hipster would have been caught dead there back then!

Jeff said...

Are the Wedding Present persons actual hipsters?

I dunno; they like Cerebus!

Kinda the opposite of hipsters, eh?

Tony, will I see you there? First one's on me. *If* you identify yourself.

I'll be the one wearing a Cerebus t-shirt.

And you?

P.S.--Little known fact: Cerebus is actually a stuffed animal. Stuffed with sawdust and peanut shells.

It's true!

How do you think he got so cute?

Oh dear...I hadn't watched the video before my earlier reply, but I was afraid of that...The Turf Club is in SAINT PAUL.

We St. Paulites get veeeeery testy about that.

Hey, Jeff. Just to clarify, David Gedge is a big comic book fan but he's never read Cerebus! However, I'm sure he'd be happy to chat with you about comics if you approach him at the show. I can get you on the guest list at the Turf Club (plus 1) if you fancy it (let me know). Same goes for you, Sandeep (at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto) if you're reading this. Unfortunately, I won't be at the gigs as I reside in the UK...

On the guest list?!?

Where do I sign up?

Wait.

Um, does that mean I have to help off-load and pack up, David?

Aw, WTF, okay, put me on the guest list, solo. Unless Tony wants to be my plus-one (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Hey, Tone? Free drinks all night, courtesy of The Wedding Present!!!

What's that?

Oh. Um, Tone? No free drinks, and you have to pay for the cd's, BUT you're a V.I.P.!

Seriously, though, Lee, contact me at seilerjeff@hotmail.com

I will be forever indebted to you. (Just don't ask me to clip your toenails.)

And, Tone, I totally get your St. Paul thing. My college professor, with whom I have shared a 35-year friendship (and who recently married a stone-cold fox from Brazil), lives in St. Paul and teaches at a university there.

I always give shout-outs to St. Paul.

Um...(complete exposure), I live in downtown Minneapolis.

Sorry.

Tony again said...

I will not be there, sadly. My clubbing days are behind me (unless it's warm enough to go bikini clubbing...) (In March? In Minnesota? Heh Heh Heh...)

So, I guess, then, that I'll wear my personalized Cerebus In Chains t-shirt that actually has my name on it, to the show. The t-shirt has the CIC drawing on the front, with a Harley-Davidson stylized logo on the back, representing Aardvark-Vanaheim, Inc.

On the front, my name is spelled out. One-of-one.

I know Margaret got one, and so did a few other lucky Cerebites.

Tony? I will miss you there, but I will hoist a pint for you. Skol!
