"Someday, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me."

Hi, Everybody!

Remember this pic of Dave I ran the other day?:

Well, I got an email the other day, from  Dave via Rolly:
Hi Matt,

Dave is looking to get more Deleter Screen Tone JR-102 [Dot Pattern 32.5L/30%][Sheet Size 182 x 253 mm (7.16"x 9.96")] for Comic Manga Illustration. I have already got some from Amazon Canada (they are now out of stock), but Dave wants more of them.

I found that they are on Amazon USA , but they only ship to USA addresses.
https://www.amazon.com/Deleter-Screen-JR-102-Pattern-Illustration/dp/B01MS2BLJB

I did talk to Dave about it and if you could buy this item for him.....that would be great.

He wants you to get the Deleter Screen Tone JR-102 [Dot Pattern 32.5L/30%][Sheet Size 182 x 253 mm (7.16"x 9.96")] for Comic Manga Illustration. ------ There are only 3 left in stock. Please buy all 3 and have them shipped (to your address).

Once you get the package, can you send that package to Dave then. Then send me or Dave your invoice for buying these items from Amazon USA and the cost of shipping the package to Dave.

Thanks so much,
Rolly
"Go-and-get-him-whatever-he-wants, as-long-as-it-ain't-loaded"... So, the Amazon link has restocked. And the sheets were $13.62 a piece. But, that's not too horrible. But for some reason, they shipped separately. And the second sheet arrived IN THE MAILER like this:

  AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!

I faxed Dave and let him know, and he responded:
I forget the link to the second site. But the price went up seven bucks.

Anyway, next exchange:
So, "Problem solved!" right?

Well, I sometimes forget that I live like Buck Rogers in the 21st Century. Looking at one of the sheets I had in hand, there's a website: www.deleter.jp. It's in Japanese, but "HAL9000" can translate (see living like Buck Rogers...), and they have an English site. And if you search "JR 102", ya get:
And they're $2.95USD apiece.

TWO NINETY-FIVE!

Versus $20+ at the other site.

So I ordered 10 sheets and had them sent directly to Dave for slightly more than Bezos soaked me for three.

(I'd say if you wanted to do Dave a favor and had an extra chunk o' change and wanted to buy a sheet or two and have them shipped to Dave at the AV P.O.Box, they said they'd ship there, BUT Dave's getting thirteen sheets from me, and while they're small I think thirteen sheets will last a little while, so only do  it if you're REALLY nuts and have more money than brains...)

More on this as I learn more...

That's honestly not THAT much more expensive than Letratone was, back in the day. If anything, it's probably a little cheaper with inflation factored in - and certainly way cheaper than a time machine. Glad to know it's still a viable business model for someone to still make a screen tone product.
