Hi, Everybody!
Like it says on the Logo:
Dave's Weekly Update:
____________
Please Hold VS '82 Tour book. As of last night, no change from last week,![]() |
| I guess the '82 brigade has run out of cash... |
As Dave's CONTINUING the Please PAY For Dave Sim format, if YOU want more '82 Tour Book discussion, go HERE, and pay for "Dave Sim 82 Tour Book". But if YOU'd rather hear more stereotypical Please Hold (*shudder*) "content", go HERE and pay for "Please Hold For Dave Sim". Either way, I have to amuse myself in the Editing Suite assembling these things... (wanna find out how many of these I already own? Then you're gonna wanna pay for more '82...)
_______
The last Kickstarter is to the printing/backing/and shipping stage. You might wanna log in to Kickstarter and review that your address is correct (and will stay correct for the next month or so while the packages are "in transit"). And maybe verify that your payment went through, and that you ARE getting something.
Okay, back to "bizness as usual"...
___________________________A Moment of Cerebus runs Saturday through Friday.
The past Week in AMOC:
- Saturday: Photos from forty-three years ago...
- Sunday: I found something of which I was previously unaware from thirty-two years ago...
- Monday: The Monday Report, and I took a request, and worked on an idea for the '82 Tour Book, and maybe something else...
- Tuesday: Jen did Fry's job. And she posted to help raise funds on The Strange Death of Alex Raymond GoFundMe, $100 until page 133 of Dave's POST-Carson SDOAR mock-up pages unlocks. AND GoFundMe has a MONTHLY option now, so you can schedule a reoccurring donation.
- Wednesday: MORE Weekly Cerebus in Hell? Strips. I think this one is written by Dave. Follow along on Instagram. And https://www.ebay.com/itm/236664955396 (Somebody was looking for the Vardalorian...)
- Thursday: Margaret has also posted ALL of Albatross One. (If you click that link, you can see all the pages of the notebook, OR, you can get a PHYSICAL copy here.) And all of The Last Notebook. Now she's gonna burn through all of Notebook #21. So sit back and get ready for pages and pages and pages of walls of handwritten text... This week, Viktor Davis makes coffee...
- Friday: that's this post. You're reading the Friday post right now. This is STILL like that bit in Spaceballs. (Should I link to LAST WEEK'S Update in these things?)
Okay, so that was the last week on AMOC.

I sent Dave a check for over $21,000 this week and I vote for Please Hold for Dave Sim.
YES, Birdsong!!!!!!!!
Serious question, if we go back to Please Hold every month does that mean the Tour Book will NEVER come out? How about we just propose a six month (or whatever) please hold sabbatical and ask people to give cash if they agree or disagree with that proposal? Alternatively if cash is a focus why not have people bid to ask all the please hold questions? Say ten question max, any questions you like, highest donation wins. So if someone wants to spend $500 to have Dave talk about Spider-Man or Star Wars or the Book of Job ,hey, $500 is $500. It used to be entertaining on the Cerebus group back in the day when everyone would end up talking about everything and nothing. People will pay way more cash to set a show's agenda than they will just to hear a show. The most popular Star Wars podcast does that, I think it's called Rebel Force Radio VIP. But the winner could have a whole show on KISS or communism if they wanted.
Matt,
If I'm correct, and the following is a link to a recent review of a The Wedding Present album connected to Steve Peters (?) he may want to read it. Then you can please delete this comment:

The Wedding Present - Seamonsters
I think I was reading on this that Steve Albini produced this album, which would explain the massive drums and the abrasive sound that falls on top of an almost pop rock (this will seem like familiar territory in time). On Daliance, the opener takes its time to get to that point, but once it does it seems the whole album is nestled in that spot, and while some of the songs are 5-6 minutes, it felt to me like the most effective use of this sound here were the shorter tracks. This album’s last third is particularly strong with Corduroy, Carolyn, and Heather really rockin’ out and bringing it all home with the most atmospheric Octopussy. Solid album that really ends great.
The Essential Track: Corduroy (no relation)
Up Next: Slint - Spiderland
Also, if you want to leave it in the comments, that's fine too.
Cheers,
A Fake Name
I think it will still come out eventually but Dave won't commit to a particular date until he's had a chance to review everything
