American Heritage dictionary, 4th Ed., says it's either millenia or milleniums. Dealer's choice. But aren't you just splitting hairs, you millenialist, you?

This batch kept getting pushed to the bottom of the pile because I wasn't really comfortable with Cerebus' use of the term "MESSENGER boy" since the concept of God's prophets and MESSENGERS is a very strong terminology thread in Islam. But, they're Sandeep's strips. It's very funny, very Cerebus-like. Just keep yanking someone's chain and then go all passive-aggressive on them. And I think it's probably a recurrent trait in Hell: I'm already in Hell, why be reverent? Uh. For the same reason you're supposed to run to first if you fly out? Good discipline? Especially now that you know Hell isn't a made-up place? Pretty sure Cerebus would run "hot and cold" on that depending on how his hormones were running.

Thanks, Jeff! It's up to Sandeep if he wants to keep it as is or change it.

For some reason I really like this one, I think it's the hot/cold thing, aggravating and then demuring and then aggravating and then demuring. Once the premise was set up, it was easy to keep it going. Plus, the God's laundry thing is just funny. Unfortunately (or fortunately...), my association with "Messenger" is now Elijah Muhammad....which only emphasizes to me that one should always pay more attention to the message than the messenger.

Isn't Millennia the proper plural?

Wait, isn't that the First Lady elect?

D'oh!

Another funny batch, guys!

Travis - Thanks! Two weeks in a row now when I've gotten 7 done and Sandeep has gotten 5 done, so so far we're staying well ahead of the freight train. I think they're getting funnier. Sandeep definitely had a major LOL one in his batch this week. LOL where every time you read it you laugh again. LOL when you're writing it. That's usually a good sign, too.

This was also the LONGEST story to date and WAY longer than anything than anything either of us had done to that point. We've got another long one coming up: Satan, The Closeted Gilbert & Sullivan Fan.

We try to stay self-contained if we can -- or two or three strips at the most.

I thought those messenger strips were the best yet - mainly because they took the time to build their story over several instalments. This allows Cerebus's character to emerge more fully, and reminds us why the cunning little sod can be so amusing. More multi-episode COH? gags, please!

BTW, Sandeep, in strip six, panel four, the comma after ANCHOVIES is out of place. I would either make it ANCHOVIES AND HOT PEPPERS! (no comma) or, if the hot peppers are like a bonus, ANCHOVIES! AND HOT PEPPERS!! (with, maybe, the AND underlined). But the comma just doesn't work, IMHO.

Yeah, Jeff's right, take out the comma there.
