I posted: I had a look at this Dave Sim comic, from just before Cerebus. It is about the angst of being an artist. Something I would not know about... Apparently it's about an artist who is despairing about ever being successful, he publishes one last comic to tell the world that he is committing suicide. But the thing receives rave reviews, so now he can't do that. Instead he agonises about how to follow up success. Ah, self-torture, the best kind. It's accomplished, though it's a very seventies thing in style and content. I find it interesting that it anticipates publishing on the Internet, because later Dave would rather stick his dingdong in a bandsaw than have anything to do with those newfangled devices. That's opposite me, When I found the net in the mid-nineties I jumped in head first with my own sites, and I've not surfaced since.
