Going Home... Gone

GERHARD:
Last Friday I noticed in a comment from Glen asking:
"By the way did you or Gerhard ever mention where the photo for the cover of "Going Home" [which first appeared as the cover to Cerebus #232, July 1998] was originally taken in the pages of Cerebus?"
That photo was taken from my driveway at 'Camp Woolner', located out past Chicopee Ski Hill in Kitchener. What used to be 'out in the country'. A quick look at Google street view reveals the current landscape. I did a quick mock-up of how the cover would look if I had taken the photo today.

Encroachment! Pretty soon, that therapeutic horse ranch you help out at is going to become a chic bed 'n' breakfast, if you don't do something...

Nice job, Ger. Any chance we can get updates on all those pix you took? Or, is that...um..."covered" by the IDW covers book?

Issue 232 is probably my favorite cover- if only it was part of the Cerebus oversize project.

That's slightly depressing - can I say please DON'T do any more updates!!

Big bummer sandwich.

Nothing against your mock-up Gerhard, as it is much appreciated to see where it was taken, but I do enjoy the original much better. :)

So, uh, updated for the restored volume then?

(Gah! Having problems posting)

I wonder what the homeowners and builders thought about having to build around the CEREBUS GOING HOME 1 logo. But kudos to Kitchener for declaring it to be a heritage landmark. I can see the ad for the houses: Beautiful Backyard View of the Cover to Cerebus 232.

Wow, just like around here in Niagara. So many new subdivision always popping up. There used to be a little creek/park/field area I used to walk around when I was a kid but in the last 10 years they built it all up and what used to be a little quite place now has a bunch of monster homes backyards.
