Hi, guys. This week's suggested and/or necessary corrections:
Strip 1, panel 2, balloon 2, line 4--insert comma after THOUSANDS
Strip 2, side comment, line 4--ANACHRONISM is kind of misused here. I would suggest, instead of IS AN ANACHRONISM, try IS OUTDATED. But, I will admit that the former seems funnier, even if it is used incorrectly.
Strip 2, panel 1, balloon 1, line 1--technically, it's SLOWLY
Strip 2, panel 2, balloon 1, lines 3 & 4--I would suggest hyphens: PREHENSILE-DRAGON'S-TAIL-A-CITY-BLOCK-LONG
Strip 2, panel 4, balloon 2, line 2--"SLOWLY"
Strip 3, panel 2, balloon 3, line 3--There should be 3 dots in the ellipsis after CALIBRE
Strip 5, panel 3--The WHICK! WHICK! that isn't italicized, bottom right, sticks out like a sore thumb.
Strip 6, side comment, line 3--It definitely should be COSTING, not COSTIMG
Strip 6, panel 1, balloon 1, line 1--suggest inserting a colon after (1557)

From the dictionary.com definition of "anachronism" (so, take that with a grain of salt, but still):

something or someone that is not in its correct historical or chronological time, especially a thing or person that belongs to an earlier time:
The sword is an anachronism in modern warfare.
So, I don't see where it's misused, since a sword is the example they use here! Plus, "anachronism" is a funny sounding word.
I'd also disagree about the comma in the first one, for the reasons stated a few days back for CIH?1's cover ;)
And I disagree about slow vs. slowly and the hyphens in the dragon tail description, more for humor's sake.
But the rest of the corrections look right. Although the "calibre..." one is strip 4 here, not 3 ;)
Yeah, Travis, I actually debated whether or not to correct ANACHRONISM,because I've seen it used many times in just the way you cite and because it is a funny-sounding word. But my American Heritage defines it as "representation of someone as existing or something as happening in other than the chonological, proper, or historical order". When there are cases like this, I like to err on the side of caution.
And, that's why I wrote that *technically* it's SLOWLY. I stand by the multiple hyphens, though.
Thanks for the correction on the strip number. Sometimes these things all run together.
And, just a reminder to everyone, Dave *asked* me (and anyone else interested in so doing) to do this. Voluntarily--I'm not getting paid for proofing these strips.
