If you got a couple of extra bucks and want to do a fellow Cerebus fan a solid, Friend of the Blog Mike Battaglia has a go fund me here

So, remember on the 15th when Friend to the Blog Tom Palmer said he was gonna post his Q&A with Dave from Wizard #58, including some stuff that was left on the cutting room floor?

Well he sent me a message:
Matt!

Thanks for posting about the Palmer's Picks SPX thing last week.
As promised, a revisit of my Q&A with Dave from Wizard #58 is up on my blog, along with a lot of material that didn't make it to print:

Enjoy!
- Tom
As I read the material that was cut, it was awesome, I got to the actual interview, and realized that it was familiar, REALLY familiar.

'cause I already posted it.

(And I'll even post it again):

Have look, it's SuperCerebus!

Thanks again Tom!

Next Time: Nifty things are afoot...

Anyone else think Dave's grammar is a bit off in the lettering above? Shouldn't it be "Never shtup a spider!" rather than "Never shtup IN a spider!"?

[To adapt Groucho's remark about dogs and books: "Outside of a spider, a shtup is a man's best friend. Inside spider, it's too dark to shtup".]

You're right, Paul, and I thought as much when I first heard Dave call it that on the recent Please Hold. I thought maybe it was a particular yiddish usage of it that I wasn't aware of.

(From the article: That framed picture of barbarian Cerebus on a throne covered in blood is pretty cool. I don't think I've ever seen it reprinted anywhere else.)

Hourly cigarette break? Yikes! Lucky he made it to 300!

Cigarette "break?" A real smoker would be drawing with a burning butt hanging on his lips.

I suspect that "Never Shtup in a Spider" is meant to be a riff on the cover of The Amazing Spiderman #29, which had the blurb, "NEVER STEP ON A SCORPION". I mean, you don't shtup *on* somebody (well, you can, but that's basically masturbation), you shtup *in* somebody. But I'm just guessing; nobody tells me nothin'.

Tony, like Wally Wood? :)

Yep.
