Wow! What a nice surprise! It's incredible to think that Dave has a framed picture of me, David and Terry up on his wall (a Brits wall by the look of it!) alongside Lenny Henry, Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French. Please thank Dave from me for sending those photos.

I recently went on two mini tours (five gigs at the end of April and four gigs last week) with The Wedding Present - my first time touring with a band. David invited me along to get a taste of 'life on the road' in preparation for our book signing tour in November to promote the release of Volume Two of the Tales From The Wedding Present hardback books. I had a great time and sold and signed lots of copies of Volume One at the merchandise stall.

I've been working daily on new stories and I have ten more pages to draw before inking the final twenty pages.

Hey Matt, just giving you an update: we're at roughly 225 copies sold and around $3650. So far today and yesterday have had the least amount of sales.
Then TODAY, Dave faxed:
I was at work. Because I've got to pay for my 10 copies SOMEHOW...

So I couldn't do $#!* until I got home.
Meanwhile Eddie faxed Dave who faxed me:

Dialogue for the First Five Pages of Cerebus #36

A few years ago I scanned all of Dave Sim's notebooks. He had filled 36 notebooks during the years he created the monthly Cerebus series, covering issues #20 to 300, plus the other side items -- like the Epic stories, posters and prints, convention speeches etc. A total of 3,281 notebook pages detailing his creative process. I never really got the time to study the notebooks when I had them. Just did a quick look, scanned them in and sent them back to Dave as soon as possible. So this regular column is a chance for me to look through those scans and highlight some of the more interesting pages.

Last week we looked at Dave Sim’s second notebook, which covers Cerebus #27 through 37, and saw some sketches of Lord Julius. Today we have two pages that cover the dialogue from Cerebus #36 pages #1 through 5.

On the first page it is all dialogue except for some sketches of a bundle with something in it. Something that we don’t see until later in the issue. The dialogue on this page is pretty much word for word what is in the finished issue. The next page starts off pretty dang close, but near the bottom of the page it starts to differ.

(Also, if Rick Jones Museum of Heroes had both the Cosmic Cube and the Infinity Gauntlet, why'd they need the Hulk to defeat the Maestro?)
