The Strange Death Of Alex Raymond is a work-in-progress graphic novel in which Dave Sim investigates the history of photorealism in comics, focusing on the work of comic-strip artist Alex Raymond and the strange circumstances of his death at the age of 46 at the wheel of fellow artist Stan Drake's Corvette on 6 September 1956. Follow Dave Sim's progress on this 'years-in-the-making' graphic novel through his regular updates at Patreon.com.

From this week's update:
"...The glamourpuss pages were all done in the form of an "illustrated essay": usually one illustration/panel recreation/traced photograph per page and then the text done in the Joe Kubert font. THE STRANGE DEATH OF ALEX RAYMOND is definitely closer to a graphic novel approach with multiple panels per page and graphic novel structural limitations: word balloons that are word balloon length and captions that are caption length."
