Dave,
I would recommend that you reverse the images on the
postcards. Having the full page image on the outer
side of the card would make it more collectible. I
would pledge to get them even though I am already
pledging and getting the full size Cerebus Archive
Portfolios. I am sure others would to.
Just a thought to pass on!
Steve

Another idea would be to use the covers as images, or the many pinup illustrations done over the years, the Cerebus football player springs to mind.

Have you guys thought of using Indiegogo as another crowd sourcing website for Cerebus Archive?

https://www.indiegogo.com/

Gofundme.com seems to be a crowd sourcing site used to finance charitable causes and non-profit ventures.

All good suggestions, thanks! We'll definitely be taking a look at Indiegogo as well...the nice thing about GoFundMe is that there's no closing period, it works something like Patreon. Anyway, thanks again for the suggestions, I'll work with Sean and Dave on something supercool!

By the way who won the Dave Fisher birthday contest?

Most of us have missed enormous amounts of sleep and important family events wondering who won the Cerebus Archive No. 4 personalized bonus print.

There is a misunderstanding that Dave Sim says each week on the updates, which are enjoyable except for this one annoying thing. He doesn't see us each week. We see him.

You only think he doesn't see you. Oh, he sees you. And he is very, very upset with you. ;)

JK, of course.

Or am I?

At first I think: "Who would drop 10 bucks on a postcard with a copy of a page of art?" and then I think: "Oh yeah, I probably will."

While I wish it hadn't been due to the wrist injury, I'm basically ok with the fact that there's been such a gap between Archive 3 and 4. I might be able to afford some more bonus prints this time!

That sounds familiar:

In 'Amusing Ourselves to Death' Neil Postman observed that by the actual year 1984 George Orwell's vision of a future where we were oppressed by Big Brother watching us had not come to pass. (With GCHQ and NSA in 2015 that is another matter.) As Postman understood it then, the prophecy of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World was more fulfilled by 1984 than Orwell's.

"What Huxley teaches is that, in the age of advanced technology, spiritual devastation is more likely to come from an enemy with a smiling face than from one whose countenance exudes suspicion and hate. In the Huxleyan prophecy, Big Brother does not watch us, by his choice. We watch him, by ours."
