Marquis is talking about shipping CEREBUS IN HELL? #3 the week of April 6th so it's going to be about three weeks late getting to the stores.
I'm talking with Matt at Diamond about what we can do to smooth out the process. As it stands, I'm not really getting the orders until the beginning of the ship month, so by the time I have the final orders and get a quote from Marquis for that many copies and they put us in their printing line-up the book is already late.
We've pretty much got the first eight CEREBUS IN HELL? #1's finished, through January of next year, so what I want to do is figure out a way that I can get the numbers earlier and be already waiting in line. With most books shipping sometimes months late, the environment just isn't set up for it. THEORETICALLY, shouldn't we be able to give Marquis eight monthly comics ahead of time and have them get to the stores at the same time every month? You would think so.
My current suggestion that I left in a phone message for Matt was that Diamond would set their own comfort level for "eating" leftover copies and when we hit that number, we get a nearby retailer to come and pick up the remaining copies and give them away for free (FCBD, conventions or whatever) and I'll buy those copies back from Diamond for what they paid for them.
I'll let you all know as the discussion evolves.
Lee Thacker - Thanks for the UN-BEDABLE VARK #1 (new spelling courtesy of spellcheck) parody cover of HULK No.1. Got all four done overnight last night, along with the last three CRISIS OF INFINITE CEREBI #1.
Hi Dave!
If CIH#3 ships April 6th, does that mean CIH#2 shipped and is ready to arrive in comic shops or it has come out and my comic store missed it.

Michael, you did indeed miss #2. It came out first week of March (and I finally got my review up this week, click on my name!).
If your shop needs to reorder, the Diamond code for #2 is DEC161120 (#1 is NOV160995, btw).
And if your shop can't get one still for some reason, a local shop in my area had 6 copies of #0 and 5 copies of #2 (no #1s for some reason). If anyone is searching and would like me to try getting a copy for you, let me know at my email at atomicjunkshoptravis at outlook.com and I'll try to work something out with you.
Dave - check out Benjamin's 'Hulk-Vark' - perfect! Is there any other copy that needs to go no the cover? I'll be correcting the spelling of 'un-bedable' over the next six months or so and don't want to miss that impending deadline.
Travis - I think that's the "#1" effect where a #1 will outsell pretty much anything else in the store. SUCH a headache for the store owners when trying to guess what they need of subsequent issues! Very nice of you to volunteer to help.
Lee - I'm pretty sure you've got it covered. It was your cover copy that got my comedic mind moving in the right direction. The FUNNY direction, anyway. Have to wait until the Fall of 2018 to see if that's just me.
Hi Travis!
Thanks for the info. I did tell them to pre-order CIH?. I don't usually go to the comic stores anymore and I'm probably the only one interested in anything Dave SIM so I see where they could forget about me. I emailed my local comic store to see if they forgot to order it or just forgot to call me. I also let them know about CIH? coming out in April.

PS--- JAF Comics is located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania if anyone is in the area. Plug. Plug. Plug. :)
Okay, this is not officially a review of CIH?#1, but...my cat threw up on all three copies. (Thankfully, not on the signed variants.) I had them in a stack on the table, waiting to be filed. Whenever my cat throws up, I usually hear it, but don't see it 'til later. Anyway, he managed to spread out the stack and then threw up on them. Lower left corner. Surprisingly, not on the stack of three CIH?#2s underneath the #1s.
So, maybe it was a review, Dave.
Everybody, including my cat, is a critic.
Oh, and BTW, I'm going to send you the proofread CIH?#1 & 2 by FedEx tomorrow. Lucky you--the proofread copy wasn't thrown up on.
Life must be quite an adventure at your place. Hear the cat throw up and then wander around wondering where the puke is.
Oh, it's always an adventure with my cat.
Three suggested corrections this week:
Strip 3, sidebar, lines 3 and 4--Either delete the close quote marks after FUNNY on line 3 or after HA on line 4.
Strip 6, panel 4, balloon 2, line 5--Insert a comma after MONTHS
Strip 7, sidebar, line 1--Change the period after SEE to a comma and make the t in the lowercase.
