OFF-WHITE HOUSE BULLETIN 1840 EST 28 MARCH 17

DAVE SIM:
My laptop computer died today so it looks like that's the end of my participation here on AMOC apart from the Weekly Updates. I'm going to get all the digital files salvaged from the hard drive and preserved on an external hard drive but I can't see myself buying another computer at my age. I'm surprised I put up with it this long.

I am glad that my computer lasted long enough to see SOMEONE take my side against Jeff Smith and Vijaya Iyer after fifteen years. Thanks, ChrisW! You made my year!

But how will Dave able to do the word balloons/text for CIH?

Time for a special emergency Kickstarter, methinks.

Dave was doing cut and paste, wasn't he? Sandeep and Benjamin were doing the computer part, I thought.

Anyway, it's a shame we won't be seeing Dave here regularly, as it was a lot of fun getting Dave's insights into the various things Tim posts, and getting questions answered. At least I got to find out that The Usual Suspects was NOT an influence on Latter Days!

(Although, y'know, Sandeep could let Dave borrow his laptop, I'm sure....)

Dave,

The Kitchener Public Library has public computers if you want to write something for this blog. Anyone can use them for free. You will need a library card to reserve a time if you want a specific date.

Here's the link to the Kitchener library for those with computers:

Hi Dave,

I'm very sorry to hear about your computer woes and I wanted to quickly take the opportunity to thank you for all your contributions to, and support of, AMOC. I'm sure much of it was through gritted teeth, but the gentlemanly way you interact with your fans and detractors alike sets a high bar for the comics industry.

Best wishes in all your endeavours,
Tim

It was really great seeing Dave contributing here. Sorry to see him go. :(

Jeff, I think that's a really good idea.

Would be worth contributing to as communicating with Dave here on AMOC makes my life easier. Question is, would he accept it/use it?

"Question is, would he accept it/use it?"

My guess: No. Based on his attitude over the decades, I'd guess he's actually relieved at being liberated from that little silicon millstone. Or am I just projecting?

Ah-HA! Just started this week's Weekly Update - I was right!

Sorry for the spoiler, Jeff.

What exactly died? Things can be fixed, parts can be replaced, usually without much of a problem.

Or, maybe...

...never mind.
