Cerebus animated film praise from Cary Coatney, creator of indie comic "Deposit Man": "...stunning debut..." "...alluring charm...""...an enduring and remarkable achievement..." "...loved the [Elric] parody..."

(A yet to be published issue of Deposit Man features a cameo of my character Captain Zap done forever ago:))

Btw we did several music versions of the film ie the grandeur, sweeping epic treatment of a medieval period piece approach, a rock music one and settled on one where we embrace more quiet moments, wether it be a cool silence, a quirky awkward one or a deafening one as in a "....a striking absence of noise, so profound that it seems to have its own quality":)

"Book of Boba Fett'' featuring a tip of the hat to the Cerebus film:).
Or more likely just a case of great minds thinking alike - anyway, was great to see.
(There are those who might remember an episode of CerebusTV where the "Rooster Dragon" has a more prominent "caw":))

Slashfilm article: "....an era that saw a great level of innovation and productivity from independent artists and writers operating outside the big two of Marvel and DC who brought a punk rock sensibility to comics. It was an era that, unconfined by traditional publishing rules, saw great experimentation, leading to works such as Kevin Eastman's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," Dave Sims' "Cerebus the Aardvark," and Burden's "The Flaming Carrot."

About the same time Brian coincidentally gave me a heads up on this pic - handsome indeed:) (I don't know what the bottom says). This is of course the Official Cerebus translator who has generously done so much for all things Cerebus including the Cerebus film. Can't thank Mikhail Bocharov enough.

Don't recall there being a definitive answer on this before - in any case if there ever was any doubt, yes, the rapper Quasimoto avatar was inspired by Cerebus. At least according to Jack's research. DJ Design (credited as Keith Beats) first drew Quas

As I was reading through it I got a fax from Dave saying that the Canadian versions of PIECES OF TURTLES 8 are shipping on Monday. The US Kickstarter version will launch this week, probably Wednesday"

Max Southall shares: this is the car that Dave Sim, Harry Kremer (of Now and Then Books) and I used to go to pick up comics weekly from Kitchener News. Here with us in Oregon and still working, have had it now 50 years!

This week on the #LivingtheLine Youtube channel: Carson and Sean dive into part two of their Gene Day Master of Kung Fu deep dive , taking a look at the final ten issues of Day's formally adventurous and fearsome run on the title. Gene Day was Dave Sim's mentor.

I find myself wondering how much weed was smoked in that car.

Forgive an ignorant, non-gearhead question - but is that a Cutlass? Niiiice ride, whatever it is. I can just hear Led Zep IV cranking out the windows from a distorted 8 track player.
