The Single Page Notice

 MARGARET LISS:

A few years ago I scanned all of Dave Sim's notebooks. He had filled 36 notebooks during the years he created the monthly Cerebus series, covering issues #20 to 300, plus the other side items -- like the Epic stories, posters and prints, convention speeches etc. A total of 3,281 notebook pages detailing his creative process. I never really got the time to study the notebooks when I had them. Just did a quick look, scanned them in and sent them back to Dave as soon as possible. So this regular column is a chance for me to look through those scans and highlight some of the more interesting pages.

We last saw pages from Dave’s 14th notebook this past  March in Oscar Meets Jaka and Cerebus. The notebook covers Cerebus #114 through 117 and had sixty-six out of eighty pages scanned, and it had a total of eight blank pages. Many of the pages are walls of writing with the text from Jaka’s Story. This one is a wall of writing, but a notice for the single page:

Notebook #14, page 62

I looked in Cerebus #116 to see if I could find it, but I couldn’t. So if anyone knows what issue it was published in, let me know and I’ll update this post with a picture of it for all to see.

It first appeared in an issue of Cerebus Bi-Weekly. Probably in the first six months or so of the series.
