I did all of these Cerebuses at the Chicago Wizard Convention. One of them is currently on eBay for about $155... I need to rethink how much I'm charging for sketches!
Gerhard will be attending the Ohio Wizard Comicon on 18-20 September 2015. More details...

Definitely, the market is moving upscale, and the artist ought to be the one benefiting!
Ger should consider only selling personalized sketches (To xxx at yyyCon, or something). It wouldn't completely stop the ebay sketch flippers, but it might slow it down. That is, if he doesn't want people selling them right off. If he's cool with it but just figures he ought to be making more money off them at first (and that's cool if that's the case), never mind then.
I have one of the Prime Minister Gerebus sketc...er, fully inked...drawings on which he lettered in ink, "CHEERS, ST. LOUIS". It is also signed, "1/1, Gerhard", because it's the only one he did at the St. Louis Wizard World Con, according to him. He told me it was just an experiment.
I think I paid $20 for it, but I bought so much stuff from him it was really just part of a package deal.
He's so good at drawing Cerebus, it makes me wonder if he ever subbed in for Dave. I should ask Dave that next time he calls...
BTW, my Gerebus "sketch" is framed and hanging on the wall in the kitchen.
I wouldn't dream of ebaying it.
I had the same thought as Jeff Seiler, that Ger's Cerebus is so damned spot on, I immediately wondered if he had ever subbed in a Cerebus (or two).
I wonder, just out of pure curiosity, if Ger were to be given free reign over the Cerebus universe-- would he have any interest in pursuing a project?
Cerebus loves alcohol. What if we set him loose in Las Vegas?
The Cerebus as drunk Prime Minister is based on one of the sketches Dave did for the first Kickstarter (I think there were a couple done, one of which I have). I'm sure there were times throughout the story where Ger drew Cerebus in the background; Flight pg 168 perhaps? ( where he's talking to K'cor next to the giant 2-dimensional DNA stone monument)
