Hi, Everybody!
Going through Latter Days yesterday looking for Rabbi, I came across this sequence:
And then became all impressed all over again at just how amazing Dave Sim is.
It's JUST lettering and solid blacks, but it's NOT just lettering and solid blacks.
Hey Mags! Next week, find this bit in the notebooks, please.
Next Time: Hobbs and Zombies. Zombies and Hobbs.

I know. Calling Latter Days "uneven" doesn't even begin to capture it. The highest highs; the lowest (coughcerebexegesiscough) lows.
BTW, those "highest highs" include what may be my favorite single issue; the one with Moshie upstaging Uncle Milty. Tears every single time I read it - in the best way.
I'm curious about the process for these pages. Is that detailed in the appendix? Otherwise, Matt, maybe you can ask Dave next time: Did Dave do the grid and lettering and then have Gerhard fill in the blacks?
One of the first issues I found and pored over was the black prison issue from Jaka's Story. So, when this one happened, it sucked me in the same way. One of my favourite sequences. To be able to do this much story-telling with the shape of words - poets should be envious.
Aww, you took down the Turkish "escort" spam before I could get in any Chester Brown snark.
Tony,
I didn't do shit.
My bot's got a bigger dick than their bit.
"Manly" Matt Dow
The fuck?
Just looks like a tedious schizophrenic
I must have been at work, I never saw them.
