Look Ma, I'm famous!
Award winning comic creator Tim Sale posts several Cerebus pages with commentary - here's a few snippets:

Sim was the single biggest influence on my understanding storytelling.
One of two pages that I owned. I still have the other one, but this was lost/stolen in a move. My father adopted the line, "Locally, that is" as one of our bonding phrases.

I'd never seen anything like this layout before. How to make a conversation page work through writing, timing, silent expression, and simplicity.
Trying to think of other comics artists who indulged in slowing down the tempo of what film does to this extent before Sim. It was one of the biggest revelations for me, when I saw what could be done if the creator owned the character and story.
I am drawn to in Sim's approach is that he understood how well it reads if you drop out any backgrounds. How well you read and enjoy the important stuff - what's happening between the characters.
You have to balance that elsewhere in the issue, but for talking heads - set the scene with an establishing shot with some detail (for lack of a better term) elements, then dig into 'just the characters'.

One of my favorite of all Sim's pages. The timing, the cartooning (panel seven!) the layout, the horizontal pages he did for a number of issues all linked with the black gutters just wowed and wows, me.

I made and wore to shreds a t-shirt of this panel.

Jean Paul: Hello. I have been trying to track down this drawing for years. Does anyone on the list know its whereabouts? (I asked the question already some time ago but I ask again in case some of the last few months' newcomers might know about it).
Thanks ahead!

Margaret Liss in the comments: The only place I see it is on Comic Art Fan were I think OP is asking if anyone has seen it: https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1497931
Being that it appears to be a commission / con drawing from 1984, unless the current owner steps forth, I don't think Dave or Ger will know its location. Perhaps post it on AMoC doing a 'hey, who has this?' and if you do that, I'm looking for the original art of Cerebus #162 page 2. I have page 3, but it isn't my holy grail.
Jean Paul responds: I (predictably) am the one who has been looking for it on ComicArtFans for years. The story behind this drawing is quite bizarre: about fifteen years ago, it was listed on eBay and I won the auction. The rest of the transaction turned into an eBay-ish nightmare: I paid for the piece... and the seller never sent it. I asked politely, waited, asked again. The seller strung me along, repeatedly saying s/he was about to ship it. Finally I filed a complaint through Papyal and managed to get his Paypal account blocked. However (I forget the details why), I never managed to get my money back, the seller never sent me anything and eventually vanished into the eBay ether--and for that matter s/he may not even have been its rightful owner in the first place. Unless the drawing has actually disappeared, I am surprised that no heavy-duty Cerebus fan (and there seem to be quite a few on this list) has ever seen it or heard of it.
Sean Robinson: If the whole thing was a scam then is it possible the seller just found a scan elsewhere and pretended to have the original?

William Hoffknecht:
Recent trade got me an extremely clean copy of #6. Inching closer to my complete run.

John Glismann: I love a successful treasure hunt, especially when it doesn’t actually cost me too much treasure. Dave mentions this first major review of Cerebus in the introduction to the Palnu Trilogy in Swords Volume 4. I finally tracked it down recently for less than the price of a pizza. This internet fad can sometimes be a good thing. https://www.facebook.com/groups/cerebus/permalink/3495493990517951/

From Comics International issue 32 from June 1993. I love buying a bunch of cheap comics magazines for one particular issue and then finding random Cerebus / Dave Sim stuff in one of the other issues.

Thanks Oliver!

Carson Grubaugh is auctioning off this:
Click for Bigger.
It's:
This was the painted cover I did for SDOAR V1, based on mock-ups by Dave. Four months of work that we both agreed was just too cluttered to serve as the actual cover. The work is a 20" x 16" oil painting on board. It already has a frame.

Highest bidder in the comments after one week gets the work. Buyer will pay shipping, and if desired, insurance. If no insurance is purchased any awful thing the USPS does to the work on the way is the buyers loss."
Current HIGH bid is to Cerebus in Hell?'s own David Birdsong for $200. By Executive Fiat, the Auction ends on Cyber Monday (November 30th).

Speaking of Cerebus in Hell?!!! Order the new one: The Amazing Batvark Final Order Cut-off is December 27th. And, on Wednesday, the 25th, pick up Spider-Whore.

Spawn #10 Kickstarter, has ended, but much like the Remastered Cerebus #1, AND You Don't Know Jack, there's a second chance IndieGoGo. (It ends on the 27th.)

Check out the new Cerebus masks and whatnots. PENIS and XXXXX added. And there's a sale:
Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales will be running:
Nov 26 – 27
Nov 29 – 30
Tell your fans! Remind them that everything will be up to 35% off! That means $13 tees, $20 phone cases, $30 hoodies, and way more.
Ya done been told fans!

As you all know, Wilf Jenkins was the Aardvark/Vanaheim lawyer for years, and during that time he was on the comp list. Wilf saved all his copies. Dave and Wilf have signed them, and there's a certificate of authenticity. The books will be available from Looking For Heroes, for $10 (CAD) plus $4 dollars shipping to Canada and $5 dollars shipping to the USA. All the money goes to the Food Bank of the Waterloo Region. (I have no idea what's going on with these...)

Next Time: More CEREBUS!?!?!
