So back on May, 13th, 2021, I faxed Dave:

It’s probably too late to suggest this, but I have an idea for the most radical stunt in Cerebus in Hell? history.

Next February Aardvark-Vanaheim does something they haven’t done in over forty years: release a Cerebus #2. Specifically: Batvark #2! In stores Wednesday February 23rd 2022.

This was the cover I wanted to parody...

(The idea being that since it’s TWO thousand twenty TWO (2022) , and February is the SECOND month, and the 22nd is a TUEsday, a Two-Face parody as the first Cerebus in Hell? #2 just seems…inevitable…)

It’s the first appearance of Vark-Face:

(I also want to do a Batvark/Cerespawn crossover, either in here, or as a parody of Spawn/Batman.)

Part of the Promo video, it’s you in your chair announcing the issue, and you say:

“It’s gonna have an Alex Ross painted cover.”
You look off screen at somebody who’s talking to you.
“He wants HOW MUCH?!?”
The somebody says something.
“Yeah, we can’t afford that…”
Somebody.
“No, not even with the Spawn #10 money…”

I’ll run it past the fellas, but I think it’s a dynamite concept. Guaranteed to sell in the hundreds if not thousands (two thousand justifies the “s”…)

And I'm here TO ANNOUNCE THAT:

It ain't happening.

It was a great idea, but this was around when Dave wanted cover ideas, and every one I sent up was met with "Great! You do it!" Which isn't how it was supposed to work...

Plus, Dave and the Waverly Press did the Remastered Cerebus #2 before today.

But I had great ideas:

My ideas are basically to lean REAL heavy into "Batvark is Batman" concept.

And turn most of the regular cast into Batman characters. (Like Cerebus as the Joker, he says he fell into the Whore of Babylon's make up table and that's why he's covered in makeup, but it doesn't explain the purple satin robe (I have an image in mind from High Society I'll doctor up this weekend.) And Cat-Whore. And Virgil as the Riddler. And... Ya get the idea.)

And make it very Batman '66 in it's execution.

(Does Cerespawn show up? Or is that a stand alone idea? I don't know yet, but I have definite Spawn parody ideas...) (Like parody the TV talking heads Todd used, but it's Kent Olsen, a gay guy on Bravo, and then all the plot points are in Spanish on Telemundo...)
