I remember sometime in the late 80s, possibly early 90s, Lenny Henry came to perform in magical Northampton, where I was working in the local comic shop. He wandered in and asked if we had any Cerebus. As it happened we had *lots* of Cerebus, to the extent that we'd bundled choice issues into four-issue packs at a bargain price in the hope of luring people in.
Lenny was after a particular issue, so I started fumbling around with the tape on a bag, like a klutz. He took the bag off me and just tore it open like a bag of crisps. Which I thought was, you know, a little forward. But it was certainly nice to have someone come in and ask for Cerebus.
