Ohhhh, Boss Man! Welcome back! Sorry about the place. We tried. Ohh, we tried. . .Just don't look in the bathroom. . .
Or under the bed.
Love the new "around the world" banner
Can I ask, who did the 3d?
Thank you so much for asking and for the compliment, RSS! It's a team effort by my company "What Comics Entertainment". Cerebus is modeled by Brian Buchmann with Romain Lapierre and Christophe Brebion. Cerebus fur texture and added muscle details by John Chen. The Cerebus rig and blendshapes are by Mahendra Gangaiwar with additions by Dane Parsons. This rig (and several others) actually broke with a software update but Technical Director Nick Wolensky got it working again. The helmet is modeled by Sandy Tietyen and the sword modeled by Reginald Pierre. Both accessories textured by Aleksandr Uusmees. Voice by Sylvester Stallone? Think I got that right and that's everyone:). (The car explosion, sunglasses and cigarette aren't CGI and just images plastered on from the internet for fun, of course).
Thanks Oliver!
"Screams punk" was my first thought (re the model; the neck and shoulders, especially)
I've often thought, 'anatomy is a language', nice to see an example like this one, someone 'knows' that as well
"Blendshapes" I thought Blender - which made the fold at the top of the forward leg a bit curious to me ('how was it done?') far as I know "collision" doesn't include the base mesh against itself (alas) but I've been away from 3d for a long while (custom rig/vertex weights, I suppose - so many 'trade secrets' (personal discoveries/inventiveness, really) for that kind of thing)...
Caught the photo background, yes (that would be a *lot* of work)
And "Yo, Adrian!" would not be out of place, now that you mention Stallone.
Thanks again.
This movie is, and has been for a long while, moving away from the original "Cerebus" comic book into a vanity project.
I suspect that that is because most of the animators are working for free and trying to make their marks.
Of course, having written that, I should acknowledge that my voiceover of Elrod, very early on in this project, was (of course), a vanity project.
But, I mean, what, son, are you *actually* tryin' ta accomplish here, son?
I mean, I seen fat, old, hound dogs in a chicken coop get their business done sooner than have you.
Someday, Ah say, someday, Ah would like ta see the movin' pitchers version of the short, gray, and furry critter make it to the big sheet on tha wall. The screen, that is.
