Our friends at The Waverly Press are selling a new printing of Cerebus #1, expanded beyond the previous expansion. Remastered more than the last remaster. As they say:
New in 2023, the remastered and expanded Cerebus #1! This 32-page edition features 3 newly remastered pages from the original art in addition to bonus rarities from the Cerebus Archive, and content not found in the 2020 remaster. The remastered Cerebus #1 comes in a choice of 8 variant covers by Dave Sim including a re-imagining of the original cover, a blank logo cover that’s ready for you or your favorite artist to create a unique, one of a kind cover! There is also the ultra-rare POP variant that comes with an exclusive matched trading card, and the GLOW IN THE DARK wraparound cover. The glow in the dark variant (limited to 100 copies) will be offered during a flash sale with 100% of the profits going to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
The Flash sale starts on Friday at 10AM Eastern Standard Time (New York time. Kitchener time. An hour ahead of Chicago Time. Last week Thursday Australian time. (maybe. Time zones are WEIRD man...) Just keep refreshing the page until it's live.)
AND, The Waverly Press is gearing up for their Kickstarter for the Hardcover Edition of The Last Day.
Then once all that gets shipped and stuff, they're gonna be doing the 1982 Tour Book with Dave. Wanna preview?
Dave sent me a copy of a Picture Disk. What's a Picture Disk? Besides an obsolete technology? Looks like a Viewmaster reel:
If you recognize this, remember to schedule your colonoscopy... |
"But what's on there Matt?"

I added a new design. It has LITERALLY NOTHING TO DO WITH CEREBUS, but I thought it was funny...

Hey Matt!Could you add a link to SDOAR 2023 GFM at the bottom of your posts on AMOC?Thanks!Jen
If you click the link and donate five dollars, you get access to a sh*tload of Strange Death of Alex Raymond mockups. (Like a hundred pages I think.) Of course, donating more could get you more.
Next Time: MORE! More pictures of Dve with a cat.

August 1982, the covers would have mostly had a November cover date.
I wonder if any of the stuff I submitted will get used in this book, and actually what was submitted from other folks too.
Steve
$35 for a starting bid.
And ohhh boyyyyyeee. I love seeing some pictures from early AV days that I've not seen before. Thanks for sharing.
Temperance put in a private bid of $45.
Manly
(that means he emailed me.)
Is Temperance part of L.O.A.S.S., Matt?
Yes Branson.
Manly Matt Dow
Thank ye!
Back issues on clothespins… ugh! Love the old pictures, though. Question- who is/was Dan Graham? I don’t remember any mentions of him in the back pages of Cerebus.
Kodak Disc Camera, I haven't seen one of those since summer camp right at 40 years ago.
And yes, you can all get off my lawn.
John G.: according to the notes Dave wrote on the back of the photos, that I didn't feel like typing out:
"Now & Then Books with Bob Seguin's hand drawn hand carved hand mounted sign/main entrance to 103 Queen led to staircase up to apartments where John Balge Dan Graham and others lived"
John Balge is from CANAR, so presumably Dan Graham worked at Now & Then?
Manly
(Maybe ask again when it's Please Hold time so I's remember...)
Duck Duck Go image search by title yields two October 1982 cover dates, Star Wars and Master of Kung Fu - cover art by Dave's bud Gene Day.
There's a July '82 Comics Journal with Carl Barks on the cover but it looks like there's something smaller in front of it.
There's a bagged and pegged March 1980 X-Men no131 as well so I guess that's a back issue.
I guess late Summer, early Autumn '82. Sorry, Fall, early Fall.
