Gerhard's hunting wabbits

Hi, Everybody!

Gerhard did a gorgeous Beatrix Potter piece for the recent Lakes International Comics Art Festival. Watch the animated GIF above to see the little surprise he added at the end.

Page 45, the Nottingham comics shop sponsoring his appearance, printed up some postcards zeroing in on the crucial section. That’s the crop you see as the GIF concludes.

Here's the bit at the end:

Fascinating!! I wonder how long it took him to create that page in real time.

I'll do it then...

An extreme negative force, called in olden times 'Jowday'. Over time, it's become 'Judy'.

I had a chance to meet him at that Lakes festival, where he charmed the socks off everyone.

At his post-sideshow signing - which attracted one of the biggest crowds of the whole weekend - he was unfailingly polite and friendly with every fan, chatting happily away as he signed and sketched for well over an hour. The signing went on long beyond its allotted time, but Ger remained working away there till every last fan in the queue had a chance to meet him. At every opportunity, he made sure Page 45, the comics shop which had sponsored his visit, got more than its money's worth for bringing him over.

Walking down the street from one venue to another, he'd be stopped every few yards by a fan and was always ready to talk with them for a minute or two before moving on. Just an utter gentleman.
