From The Archive: Notes For The Cerebus/X-Men Crossover

DAVE SIM:
Treasures From The Cerebus Archive: The CEREBUS/X-MEN crossover, such as it was: my hastily scrawled notes as Chris Claremont and I discussed it on a LONG flight from Toronto to Prince George, British Columbia. By the time I got home, I could make neither hide nor hair of what I had written.

If the current Marvel head honchos were up for it, and gave Dave (and Chris!) a sweet deal, I'd still love to see this somehow. Obviously if Dave couldn't figure it out right after plotting it, he wouldn't make heads or tails of it now, but if someone could decipher the most of it, I'd love to see it. Dunno who'd be good to draw it, though.

Cerebus paying a visit to the Hellfire club... It writes itself!

Actually, based on what I could decipher, this would have joined the pantheon of really terrible crossover books from Marvel during the 80s (and any other decade). Hell, even the TMNT crossover in issue #8 of that book was pretty bad.

It's like if Arnold Swartzenegger and Bruce Willis teamed up for a Die Hard: Terminator movie.

No, no, no! Stay in your own genre, where you're nice and safe and warm (so to speak)>
